Lays in Texas. Yes, keep the fences up around Louisiana, but there is a big opportunity in our neighboring state. UT, of course, dominates recruiting there. OU has always been a distant second. However, OU could soon be seeing severe NCAA sanctions. Should this happen, there is a great opportunity for LSU to move in and take over the Sooners' place in Texas recruiting. This transition has actually already begun, with LSU pulling ahead in quality, if not quantity, from the Lone Star state. But the Sooners are still pulling in bigger numbers from Texas. This could soon change.

The key to LSU's success is & always will be Louisiana recruiting. Texas is very important though. OU focuses more on the northern part of Texas, including the Dallas area, while LSU focuses more on the East part of Texas - Houston etc. We will still recruit the Dallas area & occasionally get good players from there, but we're still pretty far from there so our energy is best spent in East Texas.

There is no transition from OU to LSU in terms of Texas recruiting. There is a ton of talent in that state & both of our schools are going to continue to recruit well there because we're successful programs located nearbye.

I'll sort of disagree with you there, CP. This year especially, there were few top talents at the offensive line positions. (I wouldn't call Alex Williams, Rishaw Johnson, and Dworaczyk top talent. Look at JD's scholarship offers).

La is always ripe with skill positions and frequently bare on the offensive line. Texas is the nearest base for recruiting the O-Line.

I didn't say that the only key to success was Louisiana, but it is the main one. We can't consistently bring in enough top talent from Tx or any other state to not recruit La well. Recruiting Louisiana comes first.

I agree with you on Alex & Rishaw, bur Dworaczyk is very good & I would consider him a top talent. His listed scholarship offers are only the ones that came before he commited to LSU & they were all from schools looking at him as a DLineman, not OLine.

Absolutely. LSU has always recruited well in east Texas, expecially the Houston area. Texas has too many blue chippers for UT to sign them all, anyway. Of course Texas A&M is our main rival in east Texas.

And eATMe is in an absolute free fall! Franchone just hauled in one of the most pitiful classes in years to go along with their pitiful class from last year. If eATMe doesnt have a good season next year Fran will get the boot and open east Texas up even more for us. I love seeing eATMe in chaos because it can REALLY help us on the recruiting trail.

I suspect satan will get a couple LA kids in the future so recruiting good in east Texas will be a nice counter to the few LA kids we may lose to satan.
