I have a want to believe one of two possible scenarios. First, the underlying Lee issue that has been speculated played a role in him not seeing the field. If that's the case, I trust Miles in his decision to keep the issue behind closed doors.

The other is that Miles simply thought JJ gave the team a better chance to win. Even if he was wrong in that opinion, I admire a coach that will stick with his guns. Given Lee's career numbers against Bama and knowing more about the team than all of us, I can somewhat understand it. If JJ runs the ball instead of pitching to Ware, that's a 30 yd gain and we're in the red zone. Finish off the drive with a TD and we're only one possession down.

There were also a couple of good camera angles that showed our WRs covered like blankets. I think the thing that will stay with us forever is "not knowing" if Lee could've provided that spark. There's no closure.

No shyt. That was Miles' offense, without defense and special teams to bail him out and mask any inadequacies.

It didn't make one bit of difference whether JJ pitched or ran it on that play, LSU wasn't winning the game. I can hear Jim Mora reading your post and saying "TD? Don't talk about scoring a TD. You kidding me? TD?"

Good one. As you probably noticed from my entire post, I'm simply trying to understand what was going on in Miles' head.

JJ had a couple of good throws to start the 2nd half, including the one that could've been taken to the house by Beckham if he made a play on the ball like we've seen him do this year. I'm guessing that may have played a role in staying with JJ longer in the 2nd half.

By the time it was 21-0, we obviously quit and Miles probably thought there was no use in putting Lee in at that point.

And after that I assume you will be searching for the holy grail, and the ark of the covenant.

When you're finished figuring out what was going on in Miles head you can solve the puzzle of how a woman's mind works, because if you can figure out the first the second shouldn't be much harder. IMO both will be a mystery until the end of time.:D

I disagree with Mile's quasi disciplinary action on Lee; if Lee cannot play for disciplinary reasons, then fine, keep him out of the game for good. By considering letting him in only when JJ gets hurt, you are already bending the "rules". It doesn't make any sense at all.

If the disciplinary actions were for the pissed off and deflated Lee skipping classes after the Bama game and losing his starter QB position, then I think the punishment was already harsh enough as Lee hardly saw any meaningful play time all the way to the SEC championship game. By preventing Lee from participating when the JJ is struggling and playing poorly in the most significant game of the season, he is not only punishing JL, but the entire team and fanbase. There is always a chance JL coming in could have perked up the offense, and caused the O-line to refocus better to protect the less mobile JL. The only time I can accept that is if JL did something bad/stupid during the preparation period for the NC game, leaving Miles no choice but to enforce disciplinary actions.......

I am glad I don't have to see JJ's face anymore; his post game comments and in game actions/accusations against his fellow team-mates tells it all. What an arse...... .Not a team player as it is always about himself.

    Wish the best for Jarrett.

Classes being skipped was way before the Bama game and had nothing to do with football.

You just applied regression analysis--and did a pretty good job of it. All that's left in the pot is your observation about the OC. Think you're right! Whether anything will change, though, don't hold your breath.

Well I don't know how bad the offense actually was; the stellar defensive and special teams play all season helped make the offense look good and hard to evaluate on its own merit. But for sure its not all on JJ. With hindsight Les appears to have made a HUGE mistake moving away from a 2 QB system. The perfect mix might have been JL + JL, not only JJ or only JL. Its possible the problems run much deeper than just the QB position, but we havent realized it yet. The only offensive position I'd give an unequivocal pass to is RB. Play calling is also on my radar.

Funny how things work out sometimes. Say Les doesnt bench JL during the Bama game and LSU with JL lose the game. LSU may have then been the one loss team in the NCG and turned in a completely different performance with JL, with less pressure. The loss was certainly good for Bama.
