A sad ending to a great season. Very disappointing for sure. Will we ever find out what happened between CLM and JLee? Look, i'm not saying JL would have led us to victory tonight, but he should have been an option given how horribly the offense looked. Early in the season, when Lee was playing so well, JJ started getting some series. Yet Lee continued to perform well as the starter. I don't think anyone had a problem with that. After the Alabama game, JJ took over as a starter, but Lee failed to get ANY playing time after that. In the end, not keeping JL involved in the offense, hurt the team. JJ looked as lost tonight as Lee did on November 5th. A change was necessary, but obviously wasn't an option for CLM. If there was some unknown issue with JLee, then he should have been demoted to 3rd string, and Mett should have been the #2 ready for action if needed. CLM let the ship go down with JJ at the helm...and i'd like to know why.
What we saw tonight is the culmination of our predicament for the last several years with regard to our QB situation.
True! But we have a $3.5M coach hired to create a workaround for such problems. So, WTF was CLM doing for his $3.5M?
My question is: How do you not TRY to get something going with Lee? JJ was completely ineffective for three quarters including an INT that nobody will ever forget. Down 15-0, what do you have to lose by trying another QB?
That painful to listen mustburger even couldn't believe how dumb Les was to not put in Lee. That's pathetic when those two nuts calling the game are calling for the QB change. Maybe Les didn't bring the TS turf with him.
We were asking the same thing in the SECCG but TM7 gave us a spark and the team went on to win in a convincing fashion. CLM was probably expecting something similar to happen tonight, except that Bama is an infinitely superior team to Georgia. Had disaster written all over it.
And it finally came back to bite us at the end. It hurts to lose a championship game, but I'm glad we've seen the last of JJ and J Lee.
