    This where you and I disagree. There are about 500 Americans which are dead due
    to irans support of terror including almost 300 Marines from Beirut. God know how many in iraq and Afghanista due to their support of the nut jobs there. You can not claim someone who is this radical is civilized I don't care how old their society is. if their people are as modern as you claim how are the mullahs still in charge and still get thousands of people to come out and support there rallys. Reality on the ground doesn't match what you state.

    I know, but Iran has not gone after American civilians or attacked America. We were on Hezbollahs turf in Lebanon and they attacked a military target. Iran supported Shiite militias who fought us in Iraq, also soldiers on their turf. Iran has never supportted the Taliban in Afghanistan, though. You only look at this though red, white, and blue glasses with blinders. We have had issues with Iran for sure. From their point of view, the people we support have killed a million of them during the Iran-Iraq war, when we supported Iraq. We support Israel that has killed thousands of Hezbollah and occupied Lebanon. Our navy shot down a friggin' Iranian civilian airliner. They almost sank a US frigate with a mine during the Tanker War, so we sank their tiny navy in port. There are grievances aplenty to go around.

    The point is that you can't liken them with Al Qaeda terrorism or ISIS jihadism They don't go after American civilians. Of course they have been hostile. Of course they have been defensive. We are adversaries and we have a history. But they were once our biggest ally in the middle east and we have that history, too. These Persians are proud and nationalistic like ourselves, but they are not deranged, stupid, and fanatical Arab jihadists. Iranians are in fact avowed enemies of our worst terrorist enemies. They don't get along with the Arab League either. Moreover they are no fans of Russia. We have all the leverage and we can to turn these guys if we can demonstrate some patience and be aware of their own perspective as well as their flaws, limitations, and internal issues.

    Your misunderstanding of the word "civilized" is not my problem. Radical and civilized are two very different things.

    Watch and learn, amigo. Hell, they had an open insurrection just a few years ago with people protesting in the streets. Their last election was highly contentious. Iran is fragmented and delicate. There is another revolution waiting to happen in Iran and we are going to let that happen. It's a lot cheaper than war, and probably profitable as well.

    I don't have the time nor the desire to answer all your points mainly cause it's fruitless...however I will answer this one...if you consider civilized as having an organized government, and living like a lost Amazon tribe, then yes they are civilized. However ask any elementary school student what civilized means they will probably stay with something akin to the golden rule..and that is my point.

    I don't think there is a solution to the middle east. They will be fighting for thousands of more years.

    Let's just do this in the end, time will tell if you are right or my cynical ass is.
    when the whole middle east goes from the shitter it is to something far worse then you or Shane call pull this thread back up. In the mean time ill continue living in the real world and you can hope for the best.

    This is nonsensical. You argue that because we make it harder to develop a nuke, they will develop a nuke?

    You just don't get it...they will no matter what...we just gave them, by lifting sanctions the means to continue.
