I understand Arky not passing Bama, but why wouldn't we be ranked lower than both. We all know how it is bad to lose late rather than early in the season. When the computer was worth 2/3 it negated a lot of the loosing late factor, but not so much now. Why wouldn't Arky beating us--having the same record as us, stay behind us in the polls?

Because of our win over Oregon. That's why I think Oregon winning is pretty big tonight for our chances going forward.

Bama's best win other than Arkansas is going to be Penn State, who is going to lose their last 3 games and not even be ranked anymore.

Arkansas has Texas A&M, but they are not ranked and have a 5-4 record.

Keep this in mind over anything, "body of work".

That's what you will be hearing in those final 2 weeks of the season.

LSU's computer polls will be the strongest, Bama 2nd, Arkansas 3rd, if all 3 teams have a loss. Even now with Bama and Arkansas having a loss, Bama is .900 on computers, Arky .780. Huge huge difference. Even if Arkansas was an entire spot ahead of Bama in the human polls, they would be ranked lower in the BCS due to the computer polls. Arkansas just doesn't have a shot.

My dream scenario would be for Oregon to beat Stanford and win through the Rose Bowl, Ok State to win out and lose to us in the BCSNCG, and AMAB to beat up Boise St in the Sugar Bowl. If that happens, we will win the national championship and have beaten #2 (AMAB), #3 (Ok State) & #4 (Oregon). No other team has ever pulled that off, meaning this Tiger team would have to be considered one of the top-5 teams of all time.

    I ain't worried about Ar-Kansas.

I do not expect any other schools wins or losses to affect our undefeated, #1 Tigers.

I fully expect CLM to take us to the 'ship. I know Ole Miss and Arky are both potential stumbling blocks but do not believe that the Tigers will lose to them.

I think we crush Ole Miss (bye-bye, Houston) and we'll beat Arky.

You would be absolutely correct, sir.

Add Arkansas to the mix beating up on their opponent and finishing #6 overall.

It would have to be considered the best team ever assembled.

    LSU wins in bold

    1. LSU (14-0)
    2. Alabama (12-1)
    3. Oregon (13-1)
    4. Oklahoma State (12-1)
    5. Stanford (12-1)
    6. Arkansas (11-2)

That is what I want to see also.

In addition to the reasons you state it would also put Bama back enough that we wouldn't have to hear them cry about it forever.

I can hear it now. If Stanford goes undefeated, the loud groans from the left coast and ESPN will be heard for weeks. So just another wrinkle to this, not that it really matters, but if you don't want to hear the west coasters cry, bitch, scream and moan, then Stanford losing would shut them up now, assuming Okie St. wins out, of course.

KUDOS AND THANKS FOR THE KEEN ANALYSIS!

Not sure who I'd like to see LSU play. I'd like the rematch, personally but it's unlikely. If we had to play one of the teams for the championship I'm not sure who would be "the safer" opponent. Okie State hasn't shown much defense; they have one OUTSTANDING WR but I don't know about the others. His talent alone opens up the game for the others so they only need to be "good". Stanford has a helluva QB and the ability to play "up to" LSU's dominating OL.

No history with either team. Doesn't mean a thing during the game but I prefer to play against teams with a recent history of success and perhaps some rivalry - thus the twisted desire for a 'Bama rematch.
