Obviously if LSU wins out, then who cares who does what other than decide the opponent for LSU in the title game. That's a given.

    Oregon Winning:

What happens in the dreaded scenario LSU loses to Arkansas? Now the impact of the Oregon/Stanford game comes into play.

In that case, we definitely want Oregon to win. It gives LSU not 1 but 2 top 5 wins. Our lone loss would be to a top 5 Arkansas. Quite a resume indeed.

The final BCS rankings would look something like this:

    1. Oklahoma State (12-0)
    2. LSU (12-1)
    3. Alabama (11-1)
    4. Oregon (12-1)
    5. Arkansas (11-1)
    6. Boise State (12-0)
    7. Stanford (11-1)

Arkansas would pass Oregon after the win over LSU, but I think Oregon passes them back after their PAC-12 win over a 9-3 Arizona State team.

    Stanford winning:

Now, the flipside of the equation. For those dreading an LSU-Bama rematch, you probably want to pull for Stanford winning. It's their one best chance to lose (they still have Notre Dame and the PAC-12 CG but will be heavily favored by 8-10 points, Cal is their other opponent). Oklahoma State obviously could run the table, but a Stanford loss here means we are just an Oklahoma State loss from the LSU-Bama rematch. For those confident Oklahoma State will remain undefeated, you might as well pull for Oregon.

    My druthers:

Oregon winning. I want the cushion knowing an Arkansas loss will not impact our BCS title hopes.

    nice analysis.

Personally I would rather see Stanford win out. I have faith that we will take care of the remainder of our schedule, and I do not want a situation where we have a rematch with Bama. I believe Stanford winning out gives us the best chance of avoiding that rematch.

so Oklahoma State loses at Texas Tech, at Iowa State or against Oklahoma (without their best play maker Ryan Broyles) at home?

Nothing is a given, but I like Okie State's chances.

We'll see which Texas Tech offense is going to show up this weekend.

I'm pulling for Oregon because I think it serves LSU better. If LSU were not a factor I would pull for Stanford. I'm concerned LSU won't go undefeated. I wish I had the confidence Miles and some of you guys show, but with our history of losing games late in the season and not going undefeated I can't help it. I don't think we will play Bama in a rematch. The rest of the nation doesn't want it and the voters will be swayed to vote for teams in other conferences. I just want us in the SEC championship game. If we can get there and win it our odds of playing for the crystal ball are very good. I'm going to pull against the undefeated teams as I always do and hope everything works out.

I want Stanford and OSU to win, get ahead and stay ahead of Bama in the BCS, and one of them play LSU in the title game. I don't care which, I think we can take either of them and we deserve a shot at an undefeated team.

I want Oregon to win simply because they are a team we beat by double digits on a neutral field. But the BCS analysis by islstl is probably a lot
    more logical.

A totally gutless post ... didn't you hear our head coach say

I would be "honored" to face this Alabama team again!

Les wants Bama in the Dome!

But we'll get OSU or Stanford if they go undefeated ... it's that simple

As for suggesting LSU will lose to Arkansas ... you must have spent a wild weekend with the jirk who predicted the Bama 21 point win over LSU! :insane:

Issy, how confident are you in Arky not passing us or Bama in the poll that determines who goes to the SEC championship game if they beat us? With the computer only worth a third it seems like it would be hard to predict.

Arkansas lost to Bama by 24.

Arkansas WILL NOT pass Bama in the BCS polls.

That means LSU and Bama would be the 2 top teams, even if Bama somehow passes us in the BCS, LSU would go to the SEC CG, have a shot at winning a 12 game, and pass Bama back up (if Bama was even ahead of us).

Oregon being rated in the top 5 in LSU's hip pocket is our wild card we can whip out.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

TT will be lucky if OSU doesn't hang a hundred on em today, looks like.

Bama will suffer from PSU losing.

    We ain't losing.

The only question is who we'll play...not WILL we play...in the BCSNCG.
