I was reading the Hog board, and they seem to think that their program will attract Gary Patterson to leave his comfy nest in DFW. LOL they also seem to think they have the means to throw $6+M at any major name, turning them into instant SEC contenders. Think this season has taken its toll on their fan base... seems the more they lose the dumber they get. Who the phuk would want to coach in R-kansas? I'm starting to think the Faggies coming in to the SEC has killed their competitive chances.
Actually the Hog position is actually one that will be very appealing to a coach like Patterson. Matter of fact I am willing to bet he listens. They are building multi-million dollar facilities, they are the Only game in town meaning the head coach is the most beloved person in the entire state. I am willing to be Arkansas will end up with a pretty high profile coach.
I don't believe Patterson will do much more than listen. He has a great setup out at TCU and will probably be able to parlay this interest into a raise. But I think he would be stupid to take the Arkansas job. Recruiting a mess for several years now and could not be good this Feb. Plus he would have to play LSU, Bama, and the rest of the toughest division in football every year. To me, this is a recipe for his career to head south. Now I do believe that Ark will throw a lot of money at someone and get a nice name. I just think that Gary is way too smart to fall for their checks.
It will be Malzhan that ends up in arky, dykes will be at UK, Tubberville will go to Tenn, and unless Auburn beats bama and Chizik gets another year, Petrino will end up at Auburn.
Say what? Miles beat Tubby in '05, '07, and '08. Only loss was in '06, which was the game with the most horrid officiating in history.
No it won't. I'd say Art Bryles is at the top of their list but don't count out Patterson. He would definitely listen. As knuckle head coaches go the lame duck they have up there right now leads the pack. They will attempt to hit a home run with the next hire but I'm sure they will screw it up somehow.
I would have to put the 2009 Bama game on the same level if not a bit higher. I was at both of these games and have watched rebroadcast of both. There were things that the TV cameras didn't show well enough to pick up on. Both of these games had bad calls and no calls that would have made the big calls (the PP7 int and the Auburn defensive holding changed to pass interference, waved off) nonissues since LSU would had a lead in both of the games at those points.
The PP int in '09 was definitely the worst single call ever, but that '06 auburn game had repeated, blatant offenses.
