Does Miles dislike this metaphor so much that he doesn't even like LSU being referred to as the hammer, even when the score justifies it? Good sportsmanship is one thing, but he seems to go too far with it. "Quality opponent" has become so cliched and so thoughtless that it sounds patronizing, not complimentary. I know it's coachspeak, but it's a phrase that has become so thread bare, he should stop using it.
What do you want him to call our opponents, then? "Well, this week, we're playing a bunch of pussies who shouldn't even be on the field with us." We fans get mad if our team plays down to the competition. Imagine how bad it could be if Miles didn't call them a quality opponent? It could be like Michigan losing to Appy State or Akron. Or Bama losing to ULM.
Stacey, you know you can't have a woman saying pussies around us neanderthals without stimulating that portion of our brain that causes us to drool.
It would make a funnier show. Imagine CLM saying " the team, whose ass we kicked today, played like a bunch of pussies. Next week we are gonna make ole miss our bitch"
On second thought, that would certainly be entertaining. Spurrier basically called Arkansas South Carolina's bitch last week when he said he felt sorry for a team getting whipped that badly at their homecoming.
