Greatness. It is so elusive. To be on the cusp of the greatest season for LSU and possibly for any college football team...and then let it slip away. That hurts. But that's how greatness is. You don't stumble into it. You have to reach out there and grab it and earn it. We did that for 13 weeks...but when it was crunch time...greatness eluded us. The thing that hurts me the most, is that this GREAT season will not be remembered for all the achievements...it will go down in history as the biggest letdown. No...my kids won't play a video game in 10 years that has the 2011 LSU Tigers on it. This team will fall in line with every other #2 team in history...forgotten. What a year....what a run....what an unexplainable ending. We can all try to rationalize what happened...but we can't. We will never know what mystical hold Jordan Jefferson had over Les. We will never know if JLee just fell apart at the seams never to be restored again after doing so good for half a season. We will never know. We are left only with questions, sadness, anger, grief, depression. But there is always tomorrow. The pain of losing can only be erased by the joy of winning. Unfortunately 1 loss trumps 13 wins. Greatness was left on the Superdome field this year...and Bama picked it up and claimed it. Next year...the journey for greatness will begin again, but as hard as it is to achieve...I hope we get another shot at it. And I hope next years team comes in so hungry they don't let ANYTHING stand in their way. Geaux Tigers. Forever LSU.
Great post indeed. LSU will win a national championship next season... don't tell anyone this... but...... we have a quarterback now
