Same can be said for the left. They are sick and tired of people telling them what the want to hear to win an election then getting elected and turning into the establishment piece of garbage they said they weren't in the campaign. That's why Bernie Sanders is doing so well. Bernie may be a career politician but the guy has made his bones by bucking the establishment.

I'm not so sure politicians get in there and then decide to change into an "establishment piece of garbage". It's like Obama, with Guantanamo. He promises to shut it down, then gets in there and says, "oh shit, I can't shut this down right now". the reality of the job makes the new guy realize why the old guy did what he did. Additionally, he has to work with congress so he can't just decide things on big issues. Take Bernie. He wants medicare for all but won't get it. Because he compromises and gets something in his mind that is better than what we have, does that mean he lied to his supporters? I think it just means, he did what he could.

I think that is very true, but I don't think it's true about Guantanamo, because he must have known before that it was not feasible.

I do think that Obama with wire taps and drone strikes and being more aggressive with foreign policy than he claimed, that was an example of what you said, being forced to be realistic when he actually takes office.

Just pointing out why some conservatives might not be too happy at all with Megyn Kelly or Roger Ailes, as mobious481 suggested. If I was Trump, I'd get the hell outta there too.

That's a decent point, but there are plenty of things these guys promise and don't even try to deliver on. Not because of congress, not because they can't, but they just won't do it because they are cowards. Obama had the Senate and Congress in his 1st 2 years. He could have taken a large progressive stance but what did he do? Nothing, then he waits until term 2 and starts using executive orders.
