THE GOOD 1. Neighbors did pretty well subbing for Copeland. 2. Travis Dickson had a nice reception. 3. Beckwith had a big stop in a kick return. 4. Delahoussay is for real. The guy is automatic. THE BAD 1. The O-line could not protect Mettenberger. 2. Beckham runs it out every time on kickoffs and comes up short. You don't run it out of the endzone unless there is running room. 3. If Beckham is triple-covered, somebody is open, Zach. 4. We have no reliable receivers past Landry and Beckham. 5. Loston remains a liability. 6. The defense did not step up their game last week, it was a fluke. Major rebuild year on defense. 7. White has upside, but he's playing like a freshman right now. 8. The game plan was flawed. Everybody thought that Ole Miss could be intimidated in their own stadium. 9. SEC officials do not call holding anymore unless you actually tackle somebody. 10 Hawkins should have carried a red cape and shouted "Ole!" THE UGLY 1. Mettenberger just kept trying to hit passes that were not there. He had a Jamie Howard night. 2. Another clock management fiasco at the end. We should have gotten the ball back.
Teams always take on the personality of their head coach. That makes us a stupid team and it shows. Beckwith should have been starting at MLB week 2. Jalen mills our best cover guy? Not in this lifetime. 16 was before last night. He was out physical-ed which will happen. Where was 25. He had been our best tackler and instinctive but AWOL. I thought Ashton looked baked before the first snap. I think I was correct.
The guy that doesn't play is always somebody's hero. Les is talking like he going to end up at defensive end anyway.
Ive been saying that, how can you expect a team of kids to show discipline and attention to detail when their coach doesnt. To be fair to Kwon I seen him spread out wide a lot in coverage last night. Like weve often seen Barrow. Thats a scheme issue. a LB shouldnt be lined up directly over a slot guy. We often killed on those plays. Their coverage isnt that bad, but a LB shouldnt be covering a WR as often as we see it.
The deer in the headlights stammering during media interviews is the same guy making decisions during the game. It isn't an act. He doesn't function well under pressure. Miles does a lot right with the program but critical thinking in pressure situations isn't one of them.
Nope no hero. A tackling dummy has better instincts than 18. And at 250 he's what's needed up the gut in a 3-4.
This is news to only the sycophants who actually believe les is a calculated genius. That shit kills me.
He's roman Harper 2.0. May as well blitz him. He can't cover. Plus our dline gets no pressure otherwise.
He does well in that role. If Robinson comes around I think Mills would do well in a TM7 type slot role. We need to blitz to disrupt the QB. We may get burned from time to time but we getting burned regardless.
