Like I said earlier, Hershel wasn't Hershel until he was getting 30 carries a game. Its like, we are looking at 10 carries a game vs 30. A) it is absurd to do because way different requirements and B) its 3 games in. The only other point I would add is that the ceiling for LF7 is that of any of the great backs you can think of. I tend to think Cam sees this and that is why LF7 is in so many different packages. The passes are awesome, but IMO, having LF7 as the tailback and our other 3 backs as the fullback is really going to throw some people off..... Smart move by Cam. He could reach it this year, next year, or never. ****But to make any kind of comparison is just as stupid as those people making the preseason Heisman selections for the kid.**** That is my only grip with the comment Red made, along with the fact that he listed it in the "Bad" category. And for reference Hershel never surpassed 6 yards a carry.
The point is there are backs and then there are backs that command your attention. For instance Cecil Collins, very first time he touched the football you knew without a doubt he was a badass. There was unfortunately no way to tell he was equally stupid. May have had something to do with the blow that he was running up his snout as well. Either way I don't see that in LF. He is good, he will grow and get better, he is not however as lofty as his hype.
I guess I don't understand why you have to rush for 200 yards your 1st game or you are just "another good back".
For instance, Cecil sat out his freshman year. Oh, and wasn't he like 21 in 1997 when he got to play?
Mine do all the time after a certain number of drinks. Girls look better, hard tasks look easier, and I most certainty know more!
Cameron has so many options that we could end up with four losses and it would still be a fun year. 2014 is looking pretty sweet, if you ask me.
I agree Red. I enjoy watching all 4 backs get carries. They're all pretty good. I enjoy seeing Dural and Diarse make plays. And I like seeing Freshmen Quinn and Dupre. And the young DB's and DLinemen have done well also. Jennings is going to get better as a QB. We may in fact lose 4 games this season. We're young in some key places and our schedule isn't very friendly. But the youngsters will grow up and we'll be better in 2015 because they're earning their stripes now.
Anyone want to guess, without looking, the QB rating on Mett last year and Jennings this year? Looks like the OL is having less false starts, maybe its just me.
