THE UGLY 4. The goddamn frozen lemonade stands are in the way when the crowd exits post-game. Neaux I deauxn't. I didn't have to bold that for red, for whom it was intended. He knew what I changed. I didn't highlight it on porpoise. Shirley you don't find me that dents. :hihi:
Yep, for 15 yards or so, but he was getting open more than he was getting balls thrown to him. He blocks downfield pretty good, too.
Jefferson stepped up into the pocket a couple of times last night. If he continues to get comfy doing that, he's going to see Dickson and Lafell and Toliver and Randle and on and on....I think we're about two games from seeing Jefferson's throwing stats going from sub-200 yards to a much bigger number. You can see him gaining confidence and learning patience.
The Good - We're 2-0 after playing two pretty descent teams. - The defense played better. - We've had 1 turnover in each game. - Only 3 Penalties in the first game and 5 last night ( I believe). - We're improving. The Bad - We were tackled 10 times behind the line of scrimmage last night. That's right, 10 plays, minus 28 yards. - The O-Line needs to do a better job of opening the holes. - We're having a hard time getting pressure on the QB from our front 4. The Ugly - Last night's "humidity". - The safety. - Our parking situation.
Aside from our front 4 on D, i did see some nice hits on the QB. SO, at least someone is maken hits..
GOOD - KW proved he can have a complete game against a reasonable SEC defense. - Ciron Black got humbled a bit. Will pay dividends later. - Shep learned two free lessons - ball security and don't seek out contact at this level. - Helton finally showed up a little and Jasper appears to be $$ so far. - Peterson is a lock down corner. - Penalties and turnovers low. BAD - JJ threw more picks than TDs (it was called back on a flag but it was a clean pick) - OL play. - tackling at times. UGLY - Murph out for season. - Holliday muffing punts again. He better run one back for every one he fumbles.
GT belongs to the ACC, and the ACC defenses are no good. See Miami and FSU put 30+ against each other. While the SEC defenses are tough, JJ will have trouble against them. If JJ keeps playing like he did in the last 2 games, I see us losing to UGA, FLA, Ole Miss and Bama, even Arky. Once you can't throw deep balls, the defense will shut your running game. I hope he'll get improved soon enough, though. :geaux:
To be fair, if Dickson wasn't held on that play, it was likely a TD, instead of an INT. The DB wouldn't have been in position for the pick.
I thought so at first. But after rewatching the game, Dickson wasn't slowed down that much, more like interfered with, and the ball was intercepted on a great play by the safety - dickson wouldn't have gotten to it in my opinion. Just past his abiity to get to it. Vandy had a couple of really good DBs.
