God no, Mich did not look better than UF and UF should not be ranked.

Florida looked pitiful. I've never seen them look so bad.

I will say this, even though AU lost, they look like they have some good talent to build around. They will not be a give me again this year.

    Arks D is terrible

UF -- Man I feel for them, they might be worse than our 2008 team....

    Bama -- Yea, they good

    Mizzu -- Hard to tell

A&M -- Hard to tell, haven't played yet, but they do have talent.

    LOL Piss -- LOL?

USCe -- Will still be a good game..

There is a mental difference between preparing for North Texas and preparing for Oregon or Michigan, especially when it is the first game of the season. There were enough weak points that the coaching staff will have no shortage of material to work with this week during film and practice. It has been said that a teams greatest improvement occurs between weeks one and two and I suppose we will put that to the test next week. Mettenberger showed flashes of greatness last night but it was apparent from very early on that they were going to only do what they needed to win and show as little of the playbook as they possibly could. In that respect they were very successful: outside of the bubble screen, tunnel screen, hb dives left and right, we have preserved the remainder of the playbook for the remaining eleven games.

Michigan was 11-2 last year, and won the Sugar Bowl over Va Tech. So yes they were good last year. Don't you think?

Yes I do believe it was fair to rank them in the top ten.

    Florida was playing Bowling Green
    Michigan was playing Alabama

    Not a fair comparison.

That is like saying that Oregon should not have been ranked last year because we put a hurtin on them in the first game.

Mich looked like a JV team.

Florida looked like a JV team.

It's my opinion and I'll cry if I want too.

Sounds to me like a JV rebuttal. :)

I think a lot of people aren't realizing that most teams don't have multiple amazing running backs. When you sit your main running back as a team and you really only have one big runner ... it's going to make it hard. Robinson only gets off on games when the teams have to respect his throwing and his teams running. Bama didn't have to respect the run game at all, so they could bring as much pressure on him while letting their corners (who are almost as good as ours every year) handle the pass game.

While Michigan still would have lost that game, with Touissant they put up better numbers no doubt. His replacement? Vincent Smith? 13 rushes for 33 yards, and one of those was a 22 yard break away so ... as you see they couldn't get a rushing game going.

Truth be told Alabama should worry more about Arkansas early than looking ahead to us. While Arkansas showed their D still is not what it needs to be to compete, getting Kniles Davis back means unlike last year they will have to actually worry about Arkansas running. This let's Tyler Wilson go crazy. Unless Bama can shut one of those two facets of their offense down without giving up everything on the other end, it's going to be a shootout and I'm not sure Bama can win a shootout.

No, I don't think they were good last year. I think they play in the lousy Big 10. There is the SEC...and everybody else. And lately, there is LSU and Alabama...the SEC...and everybody else.

Va. Tech? Give me a break. They suck, too.
