Give it a try. But i'll help you a little. You can start with the first line in this thread i started right after the UW game. http://www.tigerforums.com/tigers-den/88635-first-game-observations-grades.html I'm not saying i'm always right, but i'm a pretty damn good talent evaluator. ****Edit to add: And apparently I feel it completely unnessacary to capitalize I's
This is very worrisome, considering how hyped Alem is against the pass, and how this smaller D-line was supposed to be more aggressive. It seems they get in the backfield and then the O-line (or in Cutrera's case, the blocking back) has their way with them. Like, getting them on the ground. Kinda sad to watch.
His accuracy and timing last night were the worst I have seen from him. Not sure if my expectations are creeping up or if it was his worst game in these two key areas. Most passes were late and off target in my beer filled memory. And I don't mean just the long downfield stuff.
That was one sweet ass 52 yard FG. Punt coverage was white on rice. A HUGE improvement for the punting team.
The Good Special teams have improved significantly each week. And it's a damn good thing, because we are really going to need it (esp. Jasper). Shepard is gaining confidence, and his quickness will probably pay huge dividends at some point this season. The defense finally located their testicles in the goal line stand. Jarret Lee's TD pass. Sure, it was a gimme. But I'm happy for the guy. He looks really prepared every time he steps in the game. I'd really like to see him get some drives. The Bad We still showed no real threat of an inside running game, despite having a size advantage of THIRTY pounds per player up front.Teams like USL are on our schedule so that we can improve areas of our game that we're struggling with. The only pursuit the DL is getting is by wrapping completely around the play in the backfield, which opposing OL's will gladly concede since it takes the DL out of position to make a play. Opposing WR's are still getting very, very open. Even on the two pics, our guys wouldn't have made the play had the throws been on target. Jefferson's confidence does not seem to be improving. He looked better in his two games last year than he has at any point this year. The Ugly Missed tackles. Ugh. I remember one play where one of our LB's (I think it was Riley) looked like he ran up to USL's RB, gave him a kiss, and sent him on his way. This signifies an overall lack of discipline in the defensive unit. Dropped passes. With a QB who is obviously trying to gain his confidence, we simply cannot afford to do this. Prior to the goal line stand, we pretty much escorted USL down the field. Chavis looks like he's running the same scheme as Malveeto. We haven't gotten our money's worth yet. The team, as a whole, has not shown much improvement at all this season. If that doesn't change very quickly, it'll be 2008 all over again.
The Good: - Watching UDub beat USCw makes me feel good. REAL GOOD! Especially since we defeated UBub just a couple of weeks ago. -We're 3-0 and still haven't played our best ball - The goal line stand - 52 yard field goal to end the 1st half - In all 3 games, we've driven the ball down the field for a TD when we needed one - 2 Picks by Chad Jones - R. Randle's 1st career reception The Bad: - Our OLine got blown up on our 4th and 2 attempt - Absolutely ZERO pressure from the front 4 - Still no "identity" on offense The Ugly: - The SEC West! Even Miss St is pretty good. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
