The corner has been turned a while back is in our rear view mirror in my opinion. Might want get in my car view is better.
I'll give your boy E props for last night @Kikicaca, he called a good aggressive game last night. Burrow was slinging the shit out of the pigskin and LSU was moving the ball the way I had hoped we would. Like I said in a post yesterday, this was a SEC game and O would have LSU ready to play. Other than 2 fumbles... not a whole lot to complain about. I predicted a 44-13 LSU win. O & E didn't disappoint. #GeauxTigers
Not knocking you bro. What I see is E is being patient with Jeaux adding more offense as he learns more and can be trusted to execute. Obviously last night proves O and E have more trust in Jeaux and now opening up the playbook. All this despite the 5th game in which we have a new starting OL. One last thing that puzzles me; why is E my boy and not yours?
The only thing I ever coordinated was a two car parade, and even that got messed up when one of the cars took a wrong turn. But, it seems to me it is a lot easier to look like a brilliant coordinator when things are clicking. If your O line isn't blocking, or your quarterback is missing his throws, or if the receivers aren't catching passes they should, I can't imagine any coordinator looking good or being praised for his brilliant play calling. There is not a doubt in my mind that Sean Payton is a much better play caller cause he has Drew Brees as his quarterback.
I am just not quite there with E right now like you are. Maybe i'll get there maybe I won't. I just want to see more from him against stiffer D's before I make a judgement. Like I said, I will reserve my total judgement until we get through the meat of our schedule and see how this season unfolds. Under E in 2016, LSU screwed the pooch in a 10-0 loss to Bama and a 16-10 loss to Florida. I just want to see how he handles the Gator, Dawgs, Gump defenses this year. Ole Miss before yesterday was tied for 9th in SEC defense, they're not a good unit.
Certainly, the more data points, the more reliable our conclusions (ought to be). However, I do think we have enough data points to reach some fairly reliable conclusions. I don't think Florida's defense is better than Miami's, and I don't think Gerogia's defense is better than Auburn's. E, and the offense, did well against both. This is why we play the game, but, if the offense does not do well against Florida or Georgia, I'd be willing to bet it's more because of execution than play calling or scheming.
Why did you leave Aub and Miami's defenses out of the paragraph above? And we didn't screw the pooch against Bama they were a better team than we were in 2016 and we had a new HC and a new OC. Bama has been better than everyone for a long time. They also have probably the best coach in modern history who has been coaching at Bama for 10 years unlike playing against a coach in an interim position along with an interim OC.
Thought it was great the opportunities were spread out having 8 different tiger rushers & 9 catching a pass. But have to wonder, what happened to Dee Andeson. Was he injured or suspended?
