We were dropping passes to it was raining on both sides on the line. Because OM had penalties does not diminish how good we played last night. We fumbled twice inside their 10 yard line did that help them? If course we need to clean some things up even Bama has things to clean up. What we need is healthy offensive lineman. Imagine if we did have every OL we had at spring practice? Pointbus this team is well coached and getting better.
Good- Burrow got rid of the ball fast. Defense held a pretty good QB and WR corp to under 200 yards Bad- Ole Miss is some kinda awful... and was not Burrow our leading rusher? It would be nice for burrow to have a long two yr career and not take so many shots. Ugly- Ole Miss had how many penalties?
I hope Burrow running was simply to give future opponents another thing to worry about. Other than a quarterback draw once or twice a game and necessary scrambles, I hope there are no times when the play ends with the ball in Burrow's hands.
JB made some incredible throws. Stephen Sullivan made some impressive grabs. I would not call us a great team but we're a very good one and can compete with them all.
One more kudo goes out to James Cregg our OL coach. Amazing what he has done in his first year. Check out this piece from NOLA. https://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2018/09/lsu_offensive_line_ole_miss.html#incart_river_index
I'm glad our guys didn't retaliate, even though they had every right too. I do wish Greedy would have lit up #1 when he had the chance though, but that's not who he is.
And we did score 45 points against the worst defense in the SEC. Next week at FU Gayturds will be another challenge. Do it there and I'll say we've turned the corner.
