Alright every LSU Fan has a tradition that they make sure they do on GameDay whether it be before during or after.... Win or Lose you can still be caught doing it... just so that everyone thinks I am not trying to get kinky... lol my gameday tradition is I wear the same Jersey, and Jeans as the last game.... until they get worn out that I have to get new ones... or I grow out of them... and I do wash them... If I go to the game I try and get there early and go to the top of the hill and watch the band march into the stadium. I actually even got to march right behind the band a couple of times. (Uncle is a State Trooper). After the game we go to a bar on Perkins Georges. If I watch it on TV... I have my gameday clothes... my gf thinks its kind of nutz but if they start losing I go and change into my backup gameday clothes... kinda corny but I am superstitious... and I always wear my LSU Hat... SO dont be shy every fan is different and I am sure that others have stranger than you.... Or maybe you know of someone elses Tradition lets hear it... :miles:
i don't know how this got started and i hate it, but for luck the people at my tailgate pass around a bottle of aftershock before the game. it's won us two national champinships but i'm wanting to break that tradition b/c of the three losses this year and i also i hate drinking that stuff. i don't have many clothing traditions other than the underwear i wear on gameday can't have any of the opposing teams colors in it. (good thing we don't play any brown teams.) ok that was wrong but i wanted to beat everyone to that punch.
For the first home game every year we cook chickent wrapped in bacon. We also have Manda sausage for every tailgate. The friend that I tailgate will not wear a shirt to a game again if LSU loses when he wears the shirt
i send a text to at least one of three out of town friends that reads "geaux" to which they reply "tigers", or they send me the "geaux" and i reply to them. i have an article of clothing that i always wear on game day. (lets just call them my lucky under-roos!) and the biggie is i HAVE to have a corn dog on game day to celebrate my lsu-ness. if i know i am going to be getting to the tailgate before sonic opens, i get one the night before and stick it in the fridge at the hotel and have a warmed over corn dog for breakfast.
Haven't developed a lot since I graduated, but when I was in Tigerband, every year I would have certain things I would wear to saturday practice or do before I went. 2003 is the best instance because the only game we loss, a part of my "wardrobe" was changed. I alway wore the same underwear(washed of course) and kept the chaffing to a minimum, I had specific shorts, a yellow short sleeve underarmour shirt, a LSU sleevless shirt (in the style and fabric of a basketball jersey), a new pair of white ankle socks, the same pair of new tennis shoes that I only would wear on gamedays, and a specific all white LSU baseball hat that I only would wear on gamedays. The one day that was messed up... A ZTA in my section asked me to wear a think pink ribbon on my shirt at practice (I understand it is for a great cause and what not but this is LSU Football). I put it on with the warning that if we lost that day it would be her fault. We played Florida that day. To add to that, I would also wear that stuff on away games whether it was full band or not. (I went to all games except Arizona that year because we didn't take a pep band) I also wouldn't shave all week until leaving my apartment/hotel room for practice at home and the game on the road. However, this was proven not to matter in the SEC Championship game as I forgot to shave before we left for the dome (Left early in the morning) and we still won.
Nor will I. It was rather warm in Dallas the day of the BCSNCG, and my only presentable purple shirt for warm weather was one I'd worn to the Arkansas game. I had to end up wearing an LSU t-shirt that I wear to work out. It was not necessarily attractive--but it was also not tainted with a loss. I wore the other purple shirt for the Mississippi State this year, as I was certain that we would beat State, and the curse of that particular shirt would be reversed. Mission accomplished.
