The truth is Miles is a very good recruiter. The problem is once he gets the players here he is no where near the coach Saban or many others are coaching them up.

At this point in time I don't think Miles is where the blame fully lies, but it's painfully obvious that GC is a wood crutch to our success.

There is a positive. Thanks for correcting me on Chavis. I think he will be better in year 2.

Miles cannot possibly hitch his wagon to Crowton. If he does and it doesn't work we will fail miserably next year and both will be on there way out.

And Saban won with Dinardos players, and left us after a bowl loss to Iowa... whats your point. If you think we won all because Saban brought a few guys into the program then you're not very smart, considering they had 2 seasons under Miles' coaching before our NC season.

    Here we go again:rolleye33:

No doubt Saban is good at "coaching them up", but that doesn't mean CLM is not. Did you read what BGonzalez said after one week of joining the team? CLM commands respect from his players and coaches. LSU does not look poorly "coached". However, the offensive playcalling is definitely an issue, but to CLMs credit, he allows his OC/DC to make their calls. He needs to change OCs, IMHO, but CLM himself is a good coach. He will get it done. At least he is not crying about panic attacks and taking a leave of absence:lol:

Let me fix it for you. Take Saban out of the statement.

Miles CANNOT COACH THEM UP. Is that better? Do you feel better now?

Look, I am not trying to get into a pissing contest with you, but, no, that's my point, he CAN "coach them up". You are the one comparing. If you eliminate Saban, then your point is mute. CLM can coach them up, it's just that he needs to move on to a new OC. Again, to his credit, he lets his coordinators coach, but CGC is just not good enough at a program like LSU.

Look at our defense. Our talent is not that much different this year vs last, but in one year following the two headed monster, under new tutelage, we go from near the bottom in FBS defense to a top 20 defense. Now, I concede we are a bend but don't break defense, but it is still a big improvement, and CLM was still the HC. He was not the reason we were bad the year before, and not the reason we were better this year. He is not as hands on on that side of the ball as Saban is, and he is more of a CEO than Saban. Just different approaches, that's all.

:geaux: You really need to get off Nick's Knob long enough to take a deep breath and realize he's not here anymore and, NEWS FLASH, he ain't coming back! Just let him go already. :rolleye33: In case you forgot or just overlooked it, Saban won with DiNardo's players when he came to LSU and another news flash, he's won with David Shula's players since he's been at 'Bama. Folks really need to move on from the Saban thing. :LSU231:

LSU hasn't been able to run the ball all season except for Scott on occasion; the O Line can't block for the run, the QB throws the ball at the recievers feet for the first 2.5 quarters, the recievers can't catch the ball (except for 2 good long throws/catches in the last 1.5 quarters), the defense can't stop the run or the short pass and can't get off the field, the play selection is absolutely terrible and clock management continues to be the worst ever seen. Other than that they really made me proud. Yes, I have season tickets but have already sold them for the 2010 season. That way someone else can enjoy this down hill sprial. Perhaps I'll feel better in a week or so.:po:
