I'll go a step further with your moo u comment. If we (miles that is)allows Harris to go in earlier and open up the play book we beat moo u. Hell I even think if we open up the the passing game a little we make the game more palatable to watch against the war chickens. Not saying we win but it might have been a game. In fact the one time Harris went for the long ball we ended up scoring our only touchdown. Why not try to repeat that? In my eyes this game was blown by play calling.
Miles doesn't have to announce his flaws, they are on display already. Some are reticent to admit that. I have trouble understanding why Miles has had so little ability to field a QB. Ten years in, saying our QBs are just young ignores the fact that Miles has had complete control leading up to this point in having a QB who is ready. There is also the matter of how Miles employs QBs. I love power football, but if you can't pass the ball that shit isn't going to work.
He does much better rolling out, never the less how well did we do with I formation run up the middle?
Yeah I forgot about that. Saban didn't do worlds better, and preSaban is not really a fair comparison. So you buy the young QB excuse and think Miles has done fine with his QBs, I dont. I don't agree with what I've seen of our QB management so far, but it's a little better than what I've seen in the past. Miles/Cameron get some degree of the responsibility each; I'm thinking the positive (change) goes to cameron and the negative (conservative 10 year stagnation) goes to Miles, but I can't prove that. If you're satisfied that Miles is continuing the No QB U tradition, what can I say? I think we can do better.
Not when the whole north American Continent knows you are running up the gut. Ie the blow out last weekend. Also helps if our O-line is not getting their butts forced into our QB's face 90% of the night. (an O-line I might point out is "the most talented line Miles has ever coached")
10 wins a season and two major bowl games is far from underachieving, my friend. About 100 FBS teams would trade places with us. Perhaps it is because so much of the NFL talent went to the NFL early. That ain't Les' fault.
On the contrary it points out very valid reasons for thinking that for as good as your savor has been there is still something missing.
