Sorry to be such a hit and run poster but your statement is indefensible. Miles should not be sitting in a warm seat. He should not even be seriously criticized regarding program management. His record at LSU is in almost every respect the best ever. As in there is no other coach in LSU history that is better. Why don't people accept that? It is truly bizarre.

If you want to criticize miles about "in game" coaching, time outs, etc. then fine...but coaches make bad decisions all the time. It happens...

What also happens is fans spew forth an endless stream of nonsense....like Florida fans when I grew up. Their favorite gripe about Spurrier was always the same, "abandon the run, abandon the run!". They used to stand around after a loss and bash the greatest coach they ever had like a bunch of cry babies.

And where are they now? Tennessee? Nebraska? What makes Baton Rouge so special? What rational human being thinks these four and five star recruits are coming to LSU regardless of the coaching staff? The staff at LSU might be a little long in the tooth but they are also proven. Recruits buy the LSU product. The fans need to calm down or they might actually get what they want.

Fans are simply not in the position to make good decisions. The fans also wanted Harris to start. How did that work?

Miles has earned the right to stay as long as he keeps recruiting like he does. If recruits stop coming then the seat can warm up...but not til then.

This is a difficult season and I've reserved much comment. Red is correct Miles shouldn't be sniffing the hot seat. His record and recruiting support that. He has also been willing to make coaching changes as he saw necessary. I can also understand why this year had a lot of challenge and expectations needed to be realistic especially noting how stacked the SECW is from top to bottom.

However the collapse is very troubling. We really haven't been close to competitive. Areas of supposed strength have been weaknesses. The O line has been discussed to death. What hasn't been pointed out much (other than the #31/#52 brew haha) is how all the LBs have underperformed. Debo Jones, Louis, Feist & Kwon were supposed to be a super class and with the exception of Kwon they have not lived up to billing. There are other areas where the team has underperformed, but as much as anything they have not played as a team. Yes we have young players and a lot of freshmen but the ones doing the worst have been in the system 2+ years. There is no excuse for the poor quality of play this year.

This brings me back to the comments I made earlier...Les needs to look within himself, do some self scouting, find the fire and impart it to his assistants and the team. In todays college football climate a prolonged slump cannot be tolerated. Les should put himself on his own hot seat.

Those very things you mentioned means the seat of Miles' chair shouldn't yet be hot but should rightfully be getting a little uncomfortably warm. He needs to do some serious soul searching to try and understand why he keeps making the same mistakes over and over. All of us have made mistakes at our jobs before. If we had kept making them again and again after being told to shape up we would be unemployed and most of us don't have a $15 Million buyout as a cushion

No, I've stated multiple times that even if he loses out this year Miles shouldn't be fired. But the manor in which we've lost hasn't been among the worst in the Miles/Saban era and deserves criticism.

The state of our QB has been poor the majority of Miles' time, and our current status is hard to excuse. We lost a senior to the NFL at QB, a juco QB who was a good get, but we knew he'd be gone by now. With a QB the whole complexion of our team improves.

Reality is probably that we won't win much this year, it's a rebuilding year, but I expect to disagree with the use of our QBs.

years ago, wasn't there a bowl game that the team voted not to play at?

"bowl eligible" two of the stupidest words in college football - turned football into Little League

corporate marketing ruins so much - imagine thinking it's a big deal to to the Shreveport for some rinky dink bowl game

LSU if "bowl eligible" ought to take the high road and turn down a shitty bowl game - it's not a reward, it's a embarrassment

fans ought to boycott a crappy bowl game and send a message - stay home
