I would give another logo a shot and to many it is not only about tradition but that it looks like a cartoon tiger. Hell I like the :tigereye: better but understand that it is hard to recognize from a distance but if you could add LSU below it in big letters it would be more recognizable. :tigerhead should never leave the helmets IMO because of tradition and one thing I have enjoyed is that LSU has done the fewest modifications to the uniform than any other SEC team. I would love to be able to go to the LSU shop and purchase any and everything with :tigerhead and :tigereye: but I can't and that is what is frustrating. I would have a decked out closet full of new LSU gear and LSU would be richer. :tigereye: and :tigerhead > Toonces IMO But that doesn't mean I wouldn't mind to be swayed by a new and better logo if someone could come up with a good one.
Very well said. Toonces is the most hideous looking thing. I hate it and absolutely refuse to purchase anything bearing its likeness. My dad bought me a sweet looking coat a few years ago but it has this stupid looking tiger head on the sleeve. I have been picking the threads out one at a time until I get rid of it entirely so I can wear it. If this was pop warner football perhaps it would be an okay logo, but not for the SEC. Get us somethign that looks tougher.
toonces, modified or not, will always be this.... its not a tiger, its a striped house cat with bad breath....
absolutely horrible, how in the H-E-double hockey sticks can anyone honestly say they like that pathetic thing that barely looks like a cat much less a Tiger! Makes my skin crawl.
Does anyone here remember the tickets and also the schedules from the late 60's showing the huge Tiger kinda stepping out of the stadium? If you do, you know where I'm coming from. If you don't, just know I love LSU as much as you do, just longer ;-)
The tiger pictured was on the original tiger logo from '72-'76, the current helmet decal didn't arrive until '77. The Helmet Project Being that Mike IV didn't arrive until '76, the tiger pictured is Mike III. (Note capitalized Roman numerals)
