Bowe was an excellent blocker early and throughout his career, i actually say he was a better blocker than Clayton was, and that is a huge compliment.
Now you are just nitpicking. Blocking is but one part of being a successful receiver in the SEC, along with running sharp routes, reading defenses correctly, and catching the ball. Bowe did not do ALL of those things as a true freshman, and honestly did not come into his own until he got his eyes fixed. All that aside, none of those guys developed into a complete wr their freshman season. Randle probably has more upside towards accomplishing that, but having not lit the world on fire in the first 4 games is not a reflection upon Miles. Especially when he has two receivers in front of him actually setting the world on fire. The premise of this thread is silly.
Can't get a player the ball if he doesn't know where he's going or where to lineup. And you can't keep telling him what he's doing before every play just to get him out there. If he's not ready, he's not ready. I think he's been in on more plays the past few weeks so there's reason to believe he's finally getting it. And if Jefferson doesn't throw his way, it doesn't matter if he's out there on every play...
i got you, i thought you were just talking about blocking, which is why i said he was a better blocker than Clayton. He had problems with drops, until he got his eyes fixed but dude was a damn good blocker as a freshman.
Well at least we've awakened the dead with this subject. Did I say anywhere in my post that he wasn't on the field or that he was running perfect routes? No. What I did say is why have we not taken baby steps with him and gotten him EASY tosses. Like a screen pass. An easy 5 yard slant? You know, stuff that's easy to catch. It's not rocket science we're dealing with here. There were ways to handle it and the staff didn't handle it that way. What an utter failure on your part to understand what I was even pointing out.
 Your incessant love affair with bashing Miles is running out of gas. Maybe 20 new threads/game is your limit.
So out of Reuben Randle, Julio Jones and Green (from last year), LSU just happens to have the only receiver who doesn't know how to run routes or learn the playbook? Okay.
We're in the middle of a hotly contested game. That's not the time to be working on the basics with the rookies.
Well not you're dragging back in the fact that we haven't blown out our opponents like we should have. One issue at a time, please. :hihi:
I think this entire discussion revolves around how well JJ and Green have done at Alabama and Georgia. We are not either of those teams, so it doesn't worry me much. Our strongest position over the past years has been WR. So I expect its harder for great freshman talent to see the field. I trust if he is as great as some of us are hoping for, he will show that talent and earn more touches. But sometimes it comes down to being in the right place at the right time.
