Some players take longer to get to know the playbook, it took Rarmacus Russell 2 years. Jordan Jefferson couldn't handle it until late season last year. Receivers also take a while to get the routes down and rumors has it that Randle's routes have not been there. They also say Shep's arm is not as good as his legs. The coaches know better than us when someone is ready for PT and how much. The players are all in the rotation as true freshmen, getting experience without too much pressure, and progressing towards future stardom at their own paces, all of which are relatively speedy.

Patience. We are going to be seeing lots more of these guys. And there is damn little video for opponents to study about them so far.

So if we are having O Line problems, is something going on with Chris Faulk? Joseph Barksdale played his freshman year backing up Stewart.

I heard that Shepard and Randle...well....there's no way to say this easily so I'll just come out with it...

Damn little is right. Well all of our opinions are going to come out starting this coming game. Who knows since all of the practices are closed and Miles gives a bare minimum of information in the press conferences so they are just guesses and opinions unless someone knows a few of the players personally. When Miles starts talking in the press conferences I have a WANTING to REALLY ENJOY having a GOOD GO at pressing 1 for frickin English!

He told one of his old coaches that it's not his designed routes that are a problem, it's his routes in zone situations when he has to be in tune with the QB to know where he should go. Reading coverages and finding the soft spots in zones are an admitted issue for him right now. Not that he's confused. It's just a lot to digest. He looks all-world on the typical receiver stuff.

I'm still wearing egg because I honestly thought after his good preseason camp he'd figure into the offense a lot more. He's getting lots of reps, just no production as of yet.

I hope he figures in more as the season progresses because we can no longer ASSUME TT will stay after this season. He can declare and that would leave us without any real experience at WR with the top 3 leaving and Dickson gone as well. It's entirely conceivable TT could leave for the money with Lafell...and probably be chosen within the first two rounds. Scouts are already expecting a glut of underclassmen if the NFL gets serious about this much needed rookie salary cap for the 2011 season. Plus Julio Jones and AJ Green figure to be the top 2 receivers next year.

I argued with LSU-SIU about TT but so far so good. He still lacks football knowledge, but he's the type that will go to the combine and throw a monkey wrench in the scout's WR projections. It's assumed Bryant, Lafell, and Gilyard are the top 3 this year, but TT will probably have a better combine than all 3 (if he declares), and we know how the NFL is about the workout warriors.

Pat Peterson got to start as a true freshman. As for Randle, he didn't even play WR last year in high school, he was QB.

RR dropped a bomb against USL, one that he really should've caught. If he wants to be involved, dropping big play balls is not the way to do it.

He dropped one against State too that I feel he probably should have gotten hold of. The good news is, we're not exactly hurting for receivers yet.

Yeah, that's my thought process as well.

I think the safeties are definitely sliding over to Lafell's side, and it would be really nice if Randle were more of a weapon at this point in the season, especially in 3, 4 and 5 wide receiver sets.

Like KCal said, it's definitely the one glaring attribute about Miles that bothers people is the seniority/loyalty issue that affects freshmen and their chances at seeing the field early.
