    The most correct thing in this thread is when I talked about how effective rates are how all this should be judged and richer folks pay a much larger effective rate.

    Some have said it's the rich that caused the problem in the economy.. Wouldn't that be Evil?

    No, it would be Greed.

    But the rich didn't cause the problem. The Republicans caused the problem. The rich simply benefit from it, even the rich liberals and moderates.

    This is where you go wrong. Yes it was the Republicans, Yes it was the Democrats, Yes it was 99% of politicians.

    Funny how people like to attack corporate campaign spending, but fail to mention Union campaign spending;

    "AFSCME isn’t the only public-sector union “spending big’’ to influence the vote on Nov. 2. So is the National Education Association and the Service Employees International Union, respectively the nation’s largest and fastest-growing unions. Together, the three government-employee unions will have spent nearly $172 million campaigning for Democrats in the course of this election cycle. That outstrips by more than $30 million what the Chamber of Commerce and the Rove network combined are pouring into the 2010 campaign." Boston Globe

    So using your logic, we should tax the hell out of unions!

    Sure why not. They shouldn't be allowed to contribute to campaigns either, and I have said that before.
