lsu will be playing both bama and the officials. additionally, there's the old expression, "playing not to lose versus playing to win" .... bama doesn't have anything to lose. trust me, I'll be pulling for LSU, but I'm under no illusion that it will be as easy as last time.
If it were SEC officials, then yes, but Redding has already said it won't be an SEC crew (thank God).
If last time was easy, I can only imagine what this bloodbath is going to look like!! :hihi: I disagree that Bama has nothing to lose. They are staking their reputations on this game. If the players were coming out and saying that they were honored to play, that they were just going to do their best, etc. they wouldn't have nearly as much egg on their face after losing. Instead they're saying that the better team lost on Nov 5, this is a chance to set the BCS straight, etc. They have their pride to lose. The Tigers will be playing to win.
The way I see it, I get extremely nervous when the media constantly praises LSU. Young guys probably cant help but to naturally have egos, as most of us did at that age, and they sometimes buy into the "hype." I dont want our guys' guard down. They need to feel disrespected. I would be much more uncomfortable if the media was bashing BAMA and giving them extra incentive. This is great fuel for the fight guys. Someone should bake Robert Smith cookies
We have to realize that this team has been #1 for many weeks with praise being heaped on them the entire time. This has not affected our play. They have stayed hungry and continue to strive to achieve their ultimate goal: :crystal:. Les continues to preach "keep distractions on the perimeter." Anything the media says is on the perimeter for this team. They believe what Les says because of what they have been through this season. It has brought this team closer together and are unified going forward. So stop worrying.
