He was a very successful Defensive Coordinator in the NFL. He didn't fail as a HC in the NFL, he simply quit. But that is totally irrelevant. He, along with Bill Belichick were recognized as two of the best defensive minds in the NFL back when they were both NFL coordinators. Belichick is obviously still recognized as a great pro football mind and coach. See? this is what I'm talking about. I express my opinion on Saban and Miles and people get hostile. I don't understand it. Criticize Miles and one guy says you're a coward. Compliment Saban and another guy says move to Tuscaloosa and worship Saban there. Nick Saban was OUR coach back when the Bama Gumps called him a Yankee jerk and hated him while they sucked off Dennis Franchione. Bama doesn't deserve the lucky break of having Saban fall into their lap. Oh well. Saban can't live forever. Maybe he'll have a heart attack soon and die. That would please me. Is it blasphemy to advocate Deicide?
You're being criticized, along with several others, not for the opinion itself, but for the fact that you have expressed the same sentiments over and over and over again. We are well aware of your opinion now, we were aware of it a month ago, and at this point it adds nothing new to the conversation. What's amazing is that you post on an LSU forum, repeatedly, that Nick is the best coach that ever lived, and act genuinely surprised when you receive snarky/hostile responses because of it. Even Bama posters haven't indulged in this kind of hyperbole for a supposedly hyper-genius coach who is 3-3 against such a clearly inferior intellect like Miles.
I don't mind the snarkey and hostile comments, but, they seem immature to me. I've been a Saban fan for a long time, but, I don't want to generate hostility around here, so, I'll shut up about it. I apologize for hurting your feelings.

Give me a break, he had a losing record at Miami and bailed out. Great college coach, poor NFL coach is how his legacy will read.
WE'VE LOST 3 GAMES IN LAST 2 YEARS. i'll take that anyday. we beat bama twice and they beat us " in the 1 that counted". guess what though. come november payback will be sweeeeeet! bama won't even be an option in next years NCG. we will be. Geaux Tigers!! Geaux Mett!!! 200 yds OFFENSE a game.
I'll defend Miles' record as a head coach all day long. He will be my coach for the forseable future at LSU. One game can't ruin his record. But that one game was a big time "black mark" on a fantastic season and was very hard for him to explain. All the guys coming up with reasons or rumors to explain the collapse on Jan. 9th are not complainers or nay-sayers. It's very difficult to understand a total collapse of a team without a cause. Bama was a better team, but not that much better. I don't feel like I need to defend this program from the detractors. The criticism is justified.
