Then you really shouldn't keep torturing yourself by following such a second-rate coach, when salvation from the living college football god lies a mere two states over. You should also consider a yearly pilgrimage to Tuscaloosa. The Church of Nick Saban is always eager to collect donations from the faithful. But if you can't afford it, fear not. He is a caring and compassionate god. Just take a Crimson Tide prayer rug, face northeast, and chant "Roll damn Tide!" 5 times a day.
Like Miles, in most cases Saban surrounds himself with quality assistants and coordinators. Case in point, Kirby Smart. When he leaves, there will be a serious vaccuum in defense. Why aTm didnt go after that guy is beyond comprehension. We can take solice in the fact that Chief is a lifetime DC that wont be tempted to leave nearly as easily. The biggest difference between the two is Saban has zero patience for non-performance while Miles gives too much rope. Both are flaws, just opposite ends of the spectrum.
All I said was that in my opinion, Saban is better than Miles and that I believe that Saban will go down in history as the best college football coach of all time. Don't get upset with me just because I have that opinion. I'll never be a Bama fan, but, I do win money occasionally when I bet on them to win the National Championship. I believe that I will continue to win money by betting on them to win the NC. I have bet on them three times and won twice. I put my money where my mouth is. If I believed that LSU was the best, I'd have bet on them recently . . . and lost my money. Betting on Saban and Bama to continue to win NCs may not be worshipping him like a deity, but, at least I get some money for my faith in him.
I don't agree that Kirby Smart's hypothetical departure will cause a serious vacuum in the Alabama defense because Saban is the best defensive coach in college football, and probably the NFL, too.
