In all honesty I'm VERY dissatisfied with the state of our program. The irony is that, 6 weeks ago- looking ahead- we are at or above where I thought we'd be. So why would I be pisses, you ask? Cause I didn't think we'd be SO PHUCKIN INEPT at quaterback AGAIN, PHUCKING AGAIN!! Are you kidding me, PHUCKING AGAIN! I see other teams trot our TRUE freshman qb's and do WAY better than our, RS freshman. A&M, Miami last night, off the top of my head. Do I think blame for lack of QB development should be laid at the feet of coaches? Dam right I do. But what good does it do to bitch about it- so I try to be positive since I know it could be much worse. Being on the edge of greatness is better than being terrible- though it's more frustrating cause when you're terrible you have to see/accept it, I guess. Does this make any phuckin sense to you? Not sure if it does to me.
That's a pretty good post. I love the fact the Miles focuses on a stout defense and other parts of the team, BUT... it seems we neglect or can not develop the talent we have on offense. I do not need a tricky, big flash offense to be happy. But I would like to see wrinkles added in like more pass attempts. We wonder why we can't bring in big name receivers or QBs, but who wants to come to a program that only runs the ball? We do not throw until we have to most of the time. We do not use misdirection, or 5 yrd short routes, or even throw more than 20 attempts in a game unless we're sitting at 3rd & long. Way too many false starts, and other miscues seem to always shoot ourselves in the foot. I just don't think Miles is the answer any longer. The games we seem to lose now are the same games we used to win. I don't know where the answer lies, but we just got beat by a Rkansas team that has lost to everyone in their last 17 conference games. It's embarrassing being the team that gives up constant 1st's.
What's wrong with giving the players hot chocolate on a day with 30 degree temps? It's the same as giving them an a/c mister and kentwood water on a 90+ degree day. You do what you can to keep them comfortable. Made me laugh.
It wasn't any better from my seat either and I was in my favorite chair, with the fireplace lit, and alcohol in my system and other than the NC game, it was the worst I ever saw.
Ask some of the greats that played in cold temps in the past what they think about hot chocolate on the sideline. Football players don't need hot chocolate. Spoiled prima donna athletes with a sense of entitlement maybe but not real football players.
They used to wear leather helmets too. Should we turn in the Riddell and Schutt ones? I could go on and on about how things change.
I've never seen it before this weekend. Leslie is setting the precedence in the pussification of the modern athlete. Wow!
