in my experiences, the last time I saw a coach totally screw over his team by not using talent effectively, he went from offensive coordinator to coaching girls volleyball. the only difference is the now girls volleyball coach actually admitted to his players he had no idea what he was doing. Still wonder to this day why the guy ever saw a football field sideline.
Hopefully les is headed to michigan and this is his way of Pissing tiger nation off so it will make his exit easier .....one can hope right. He can take his 102 wins with his ass ,how many of those wins are against st teams we are supposed to beat. Probably a huge percentage of Northwest state and Furmans in there. Get the fuck out of here miles you have embarrassed us enough.
I do. While I hate the offense, and agree w/everyone that I want the antiquated B10 offense to be shelved, and let our horses run, I prefer winning overall. I don't want to trade offensive-minded football for wholesale struggles and overall losing. I don't think most of the "offensive minded" HCs do enough to focus on defense and STs to be as successful as CLM. Jimbo and Meyer may be the exceptions there. But I don't want the rif-raf that Jimbo would bring, or the crying that Cryer would bring. I'm not saying that we can't find someone who runs a more entertaining offense and still wins as much as CLM, just that there is a greater chance we won't, and will likely struggle for a while before finding that right fit. The key would be the first hire while our talent is still stocked. If we had a tenure like MArcher's following CLM, then the talent pool will thin, and any coaches after that will struggle to restock the pond. That's my biggest concern personally. In an ideal world, I'd like CLM to let his OC run the offense w/o preconceived notions of a certain favored strategy. Just let him run his horses. Our D and STs will keep us in it. But, after 10 years, I do not have high expectations, that's for sure. Is it time for a wholesale change? I dunno. If so, I pray we make the right first choice, cuz it'll get ugly after that. And, I pray that the person has the ethics of CLM and runs a clean, respectable program, and has as much fun as CLM seems to have, b/c those things I value in him. So, overall, I still support CLM and his 102 wins, and the other positive components of his tenure, but I sure am frustrated and unaccepting of what they call an offense under his watch.
I thought that hot chocolate thing was so candy ass. I also hated those big purple socks we were wearing.
Bengal, this one is testing my loyalty to Miles....no question. I am definitely now convinced that our lack of offensive diversity is squarely on Miles' shoulders
Oh there isn't a lot of negativity here. Just a small ensemble and I'm the leader of the band. I suspect we may need a bigger bus soon. I know at least 3 that won't be needing a ride. Make that 4, I forgot about @lsutiga
