wasn't a bad post until you got to here, of coarse people like me are mad this offense is 108th in the country, JJ has been sacked 20+ times this year in all the plays the team has had and the offense was out gained in yardage in most games and you dont thinks its Crowton. People say the defense preform poorly also, I say they did fine for being on the field more than half the game. you have your choose and opinion and I respect that but I for one believe this offense is Crowtons and the reason it's ranked 108th is because of Crowton alone, his offensive scheme and play calling sucks. if JJ had thrown 10-20 INT's this year I could understand him being the reason LSU not having a decent offense but not by taking a few sacks, its Crowton and if he come back next year I am afraid he will prove it again how poor a OC he is and I dont think the team can waste another year with this offense.
You have me confused with someone else perhaps. I think JJ is quite talented and has done pretty well this last year. I have stated as much, though you chose not to quote it. And I am very happy that he throws fewer interceptions than Lee. And I do attribute most of his sacks to a weak Oline or poor route running. But all that aside, his vision is not were it should be. Nor is his confidence. I imagine it could improve but I don't know how it will with the current OC. Crowton has a proven track record of not being able to develop QB's. He seems determined to ask JJ to do things he either cannot do or cannot do well. My doubts are not in JJ. It's in Crowton's ability to develop him properly. He has yet to develop a young QB at any job he has had. We are merely seeing the latest incarnation of it.
Crowton should get a lot of blame. But one has to wonder why he has regressed. No doubt, he seemed to do his best to keep the O out of rhythm with his playcalling. But, with a weak Oline and QB who can't progress through his reads, nor develop any type of pocket presence. This had to handcuff him a bit. Either way, improvement must be made by the players and the coaching staff.
Just read on Dandy Don this morning that he has heard that they are going to keep Crowton for at least 1 more year. He has 2 years left on his contract. Almost lost my breakfast!:sob:
I seen that also, oh well if coach miles keeps crowton and the offense does like it did this year, Miles and Crowton should be replaced after next year IMHO!
Well, if he is staying, which i thought would happen anyway, we need to get behind this dude, and Miles. As much as it pains me (crowton), we have to get behind our team and coaching staff at least until the end of next season depending on the outcome.
Yeah, my reply started directly towards you, but then I wandered and started ranting to the masses. Apologies. His anticipation is what I want to see improve, but that's going to take at least a season. If he's not hitting receivers as the come open starting next season, Jefferson and Crowton both will need to be held accountable. Crowton has sent seven QBs to the NFL, so to claim that he does not know how to develop a QB is simply a falsehood. You disagreeing with me gives my post credibility. Thanks...
I said in numerous posts that I don't like Crowton, but wouldn't be surprised if they kept him. I have a feeling that we won't know until the bowl game for sure. If he is not fired and gets one more year to prove himself, he needs to start working with what he has, not demanding that squares fit into circles in this puzzle that he calls an offense. And if he stays, I still say every other offensive (both senses of the word) coach needs to be replaced:geaux:
