Looks like even most of the sunshine pumpers on the board want to see him gone. When an OC has this much talent, even with an inexperienced QB, his squad has to finish better than 11th in the SEC in total offense, and 108th in the nation. Delays of game, shifting penalties, clock mismanagement, substitution infractions, three-and-outs all game long. These problems were never resolved this year, and Crowton has to shoulder a large part of the blame. But . . . does CLM want to can the Crow and make young JJ start from scratch with a new OC? Or does Miles cross his fingers, keep Mr. Clean another year, and hope the light finally comes on for JJ, who will in turn lead the Tigers to the promised land? Who wants to give percentages on whether GC returns? I'm saying 60/40 he's gone. :LSU231:
I'm saying 100% he stays. LSU isn't going to pay him a million $ to leave. Now if he were to leave on his own, that is another story, but Miles isn't getting rid of him.
I don't think it matters if he has a good QB coach. Let's face it JJ will need a full time hands on guy to grow where he needs too, because he is not getting there by himself. If the next OC and position coaches are better the offense will improve. We have no real teaching going on they just go through the motions of what they want to run in game situations. Just my observation.
90-10 gone. i actually heard LSU/miles told him to start hunting for a job after the bama game. that way we don't have to fire him. of course i would say "eff that, buy me out." i thought he wasnt under contract anymore after this year?? anyone know? btw, i also heard studrawa and mccarthy would also be gone as well. i'm hoping that info is right.
Miles needs a sacrificial lamb to appease the big donors and the whiners. Crowton may be the escape goat.
Just curious. Who is to blame for our offensive woes, or do you think we have any? If not Miles or Crowton then who? LSU has too much talent to come in 11th in the SEC and 108th in the nation and I'm assuming those numbers are correct. This offense showed no growth over the course of the year.
not to mention this is the first time since 1999 that LSU has been out gained in total yards for the season by its opponents. We all know how 99 turned out. Offensively i have to blame Crowton, but just as much blame needs to fall on Miles because he is the head honcho that signs off it. It makes me wonder what they see in practice, does Jefferson look like Peyton Manning in practice or something?
