I also pick up on Miles' extra loyalty to JJ, but I don't think it's because Miles is hardheaded...I think it's because he absolutely will not do or say anything that would end up being remotely construed as throwing JJ under the bus.

I hate to bring up ammo for the fire Les Miles crowd...but I'm convinced that Miles is unusually loyal to JJ because of what happened after the Ole Miss game and the " I didn't say clock it...I said the receiver was down" statements.

Miles did throw JJ under the bus with those statements and I truly believe that Miles met privately with JJ and the team and told them that he was wrong for that and it will never happen again.

I think Miles regrets those statements so much that he will protect JJ at all costs from any type of criticism and will go the extra mile to give JJ all the chances in the world.

I think all is forgiven and everyone has moved on, but Miles is extra loyal to JJ for that.

The coaches just need to show confidence in him, and quit playing scared of making mistakes. They do this and open up the playbook, the one that RS spoke of last week, and JJ will gain confidence in himself.

Red is right on the mark. It is almost comical for us to get down in the Red Zone cause you know JJ is on the short leash and won't pass.

On the positive -- he is not losing games right now, and that is a step, no matter how small, in the right direction.
The Negative -- not losing games is not the same as winning games. Much less winning Championship games. 7-4 (I hope)

He didn't lose any games for us last year, either. The o-line might have, though.

i am holding out hope, just like i did last year, that the coaching staff is waiting for the meat of the schedule to break out. of course i was very disappointed last year, but who knows.

He was a pretty solid contributor, however. But yes, the O-line was brutal.

Just curious what your prediction is for the season?

I had 5 losses, but I think with the defense playing lights out, I would change that to 3 or 4 losses.

it's not going to matter much anyway, if Jefferson makes it through this season without getting injured it will be a miracle.
