Negative. Colley is still one of six computer polls that are averaged together to get the composite computer poll, which is 1/3 of the BCS ranking.

As of today, we're number 5 and USL is number 52 in the overall BCS rankings. I'm not sure what week the BCS actually makes it official. I'm not even gonna say who's 1 thru 4, see for yourself.

I'm all for ending the season right now and then beating the crap out of Pittsburgh in the Rose Bowl

But HOLY COW! We gotta play #19 USL Saturday night in Tiger Stadium

Re: The Colley Matrix (BCS RANKINGS)

i was talking about the component that takes away the margin of victory from the strength of schedule in all of the polls that comprise the bcs. so basically, in 03 the loss by OU at the hands of an unranked K State team in the big 12 championship game was equal to the overtime loss USC suffered at the hands of Cal. Which is ironic because in 07 Miles argued that LSU was still undefeated in regulation. But it was that and the fact that Notre Dame lost to Syracuse and Boise St. beat Hawaii, and being that USC played both Hawaii and Notre Dame, along with the being that margin of victory wasnt a factor in the losses, USC dropped to 3. So basically the computers were programmed to reflect how the voters would determine rankings, and that is what we have today.

strangely enough, if the formulas that are used today were used in 03, LSU would have been 1, and USC would have been 2. and if human polls were used USC would have been 1 and LSU 2. So everyone was robbed except OU, because everyone but OU fans would have enjoyed a great game, that would have ultimately ended out with us still holding the crystal ball :hihi:

Florida's hurt now in the computer polls by playing high school teams early in their schedule.

They will rebound once they get a couple of SEC games in.

Yeah, this happens every year. The computer polls will pretty comparably resemble the human polls at season's end.

After we finish the beatdown on Florida in TigerStadium, we'll be #1 in ALL polls.

Yeah, it's still early. Don't hate on the computers. But this is why I would use last season's results in a diminishing way as the season rolled on.
