Cleveland has truly messed up there team.

Getting Ben Julius Wallace, doesnt really do much for your offense.
Joe Smith is decent, but cant play alot of minutes.

They still dont have a point guard, Gibson is a small 2 guard.

They still dont have a bench which will haunt them in the playoffs.

    your thoughs?

I thought Delonte West gives them their best point guard option ever since LaBron came to town.

That's probably the most important part of this trade. Szerbiak is an outside shooter, which is something Cleveland needs more of so Labron can kick it out to more options than just Gibson. They will become much more versatile and unpredictable on offense.

If they can get Big Ben to clog up the middle close to what he used to do, then the trade looks that much better.

I think Cleveland definitely improved. Drew Gooden was a chump.

Here is the deal, they got slower, especially on defense, West nor Szerbiak can play defense. They do have better shooting options. However, with Ben you lose an offensive option and teams will be better at doubling Lebron James with Ben on the floor. I dont think they got better, they still havent solved the point guard problem. Thats why Boston let West go, cause he isnt a point guard and his defense is horrible at best.

They took on a big contract with Ben as well. I think it was a mistake. But time will tell.

Cleveland basically stayed the same and I think they cleared up 22 mil in cap space for the future, which means the ability to resign Lebron before 2010 and get him some quality teammates. The only problem is these guys wont be able to be moved very easily with their age.

I assume that is all that the trade was really for. They also got West who is a nice upgrade, and dumped Marshall and Gooden. So it wasnt all bad.

cleveland has zero chance to resign LeBron even if they cleared up 100 billion dollars.

I don't think it's horrible for them. They pretty much just stayed the same.

They don't "Need" a PG, because LeBron has the ball too many. He gets all the assists they need.

I was speaking as to why the Cavs did it. I agree they wont get him. Id pay the Cavs to let me move out of Cleveland.

I think the trade was good except for Ben Wallace, no doubt they needed to get rid of Larry Hughes and his horrible contract.
