This last weekend, I sold four tickets on the fifty yard line for the Bama game. I sold them to a very pretty lady, who planned on taking her son. I'm guessing he was about twenty. They drove all the way to McComb Friday evening to get the tickets. Seemed like she would not have been relaxed until she had the tickets in hand. Turns out that this was the "very first" game she had ever been to in TS. It was quite obvious though, that she "loved" her Tigers. As the game progressed, I thought "man,,,I might have sold tickets to the most memorible game in TS." Then I thought, "I have been to so many there. Just hope this one will really remain in her mind." I was glad I did it. Certainly after the way it ended. That should have been the end of the story, but this morning, I received a phone call. It was this lady who had bought the tickets. She just wanted to tell me about her first trip to TS. She told me how they walked around just looking at the beautiful campus...how "great" the seats were....how exciting the crowd was...how fantastic the tailgating was. She had a blast. What a first time experience.....It really pleased me. I said all that basically just to say that "she did not have to do that. There was really no need to call me back." People sometimes say what bad fans LSU people are. There are dumb butts at every school. But I say........... THAT'S THE CLASS OF "LSU" GEAUX TIGERS....EXCEPT FOR TWO WEEKS FROM NOW......HA
Great story Col Reb, but I have to ask - how does an Ole Miss fan get (4) 50 yard line tickets to the biggest LSU home game of the year?
Luck? Actually, family tickets for many years. A former LSU AD (JD) even had the gall to call and ask if my kin folks would consider "relocating their tickets" because LSU could sell these for a bunch.....he didn't get them apparently....heh..heh.... In '07, I sold the same tickets to LSUTiga. It was for the Arkansas game....LSU lost that one too. But went on to be NC. When sitting there, I have never seen the Tigers lose. Go figure.....after posting this, I got to thinking.....(even a Reb thinks)..that was the year LSU got into the NC game with two losses.............HAVE FAITH..............I think little chance, but weird things happen.....I think the Fla. game is what burned LSU's butt though.
Ole Miss has no defense. Hotty Totty right back up to Oxford and kiss your dreams of a bowl game goodbye..
Oh....bring it on...the ole timers here know I can take it. We have some games where we play way over our heads. But then, we have games where it looks like we could not play dead in a western movie....geaux tigers.
People say Tusk is a class rival but he doesn't hold a candle to Reb here. Tusk masks his insufferable gump attitude in words but it breaks through too often. Reb, Cadillac Attack CDF and to an extent Captain Tide have class. Reb you understand the depth of the tradition the SEC holds and respect it. Here is to you. Reb I grew up on the LSU-Ole Miss rivalry from Billy Cannon /Jake Gibbs to Archie and the whole Tiger team to Bert Jones and the last second TD and it was a great time. I miss it. It was fun to "hate" you all though it was in an old fashioned gentlemanly way. I hope you all make it back and the "go to hell Ole Miss/LSU" cheer will mean something again.
