What I didn't realize until I watched it back on replay was that Chad Jones started that play all the way on the right hand side (to the right of the Right DE) of the field and had to run all the way across when he noticed that the it was a play action pass play. I think he actually went to cover the RB that had been faked the ball who was just getting over the goal line when Chad got there and then Chad had to make that most athletic lunge at the ball spread eagle in the air. Superman play, I tell ya. Superman play.
I saw the play, and the replay on TV they pointed out how far to the right he was, another tremendous play by Chad, along with the punt return! Give that man an game ball! Been in Seagrove, Fl. for the week, in a "technology free zone"!, no internet at the condo! It's kind of nice actually, to get the batteries recharged. I missed the ULL game, but I caught the MSU game.
For his first punt return, I was wondering why he was in there. Trindon had been fielding the ball well. And Trindon could have run back that punt in half the time.
After the first return, his balls got bigger than his brain. He THOUGHT he was superman. That was a dumb thing for him to do - - - but he made up for it on the goal line plays. I thought it was "standing orders" that you don't field a punt inside the 10. If it's not - it should be. I'm not ready to nominate Chad for Pope - but he's certainly getting better! :geaux:
