Guess what LaSalle Jennings was tabbed as a pro style QB in HS. 247Sports had him as a highly rated pro style.
Dude and that's what I thought watching his film, but I started to question it because you do see him run in the film a lot. Most of his passes come from shotgun though. I've posted it here before, he was going through progressions, checking down, moving around, keeping eyes downfield in his high school film. So here's the million dollar question then, why aren't we putting him in situations his skill set is best suited for? I get the power I, but it sucks when 9/10 times it's getting handed off. Put Jennings in the shotgun let him run the no huddle, you can still hand the ball off.
I agree that there has been a pattern of poor performance at QB under Miles but as to having plenty of time to set up the season so we'd look better at that position, it's impossible to simulate game conditions at practice. Sure, loud music can help you work on signals but the adrenaline that accompanies fan noise is another level. Miles can definitely be a doofus but I watched some of that Bama game yesterday and Saban' team looked SLOPPY. Lots of miscues, clock management, etc. I think they even had too many men on the field for a punt, after a TV timeout.
On the catch, it was awesome. I was disappointed this morning when I saw a Kentucky receiver make a one-handed TD grab too. Felt like that fugger made our catch look NOT so awesome.
Both were great catches, and both receivers were being raped by the defender. But I like the back corner of the end zone catch better myself. But I'm biased anyway.
I can agree Harris May be tweaked but I still think the better QB rode the bench, and I disagree about him not being ready. He damn near won the game for us against moo u. Yes I know it was a home game but you can't tell me Jennings looked composed. He over threw the majority of his passes and then once we figured that we could run we almost exclusively went to the run. I thinks Harris could have handed the ball off just as effective as Jennings. Just my 2 cents.
Here's the dam thing. They're calling the Kentucky receiver's catch the play of the year. Kentucky....I swear, such media darlings. http://hsrd.yahoo.com/_ylt=ArVQW7z8...yLmh0bWw-/RS=^ADAD4Ryt4IpHgR7FLtCZfXIK7fK.wA-
