i just wanted to say that CLM and his staff aren't given nearly enough credit for the caliber of young men they recruit to play for this university. seth mannon. armand williams. russell shepard. i can keep going on, and on, but it really makes me feel proud to be a Tiger! the wins and losses become pretty insignificant once you start hearing the stories of some of these athletes. that is all... :helmet:
When I think about the, um, "quality" of young men that were here when I was a wide-eyed freshman, like Cecil Collins and the team captain that stole a girl's purse in the quad in broad daylight, you're darn right about what we have now.
excellent point. and when trouble does come up, it seems to be handled and not continually overlooked, or the "punishment" consisting of NOT having to run wind sprints. great post jayb!:thumb:
Oh, boy, that brings back some memories. Something about a camera that had compromising pics on it or some such thing, was that right?
I still cringe when I hear that name because of his antics, on team off team on school off school, it doesn't matter. They'll be bad eggs every once and awhile, but by and large Miles has done a very good job recruiting character as well as talent.:miles:
speaking of which who is winning the fulmer cup right now? DRC, you are usually up on that stuff, who's winning?
That's the first I heard about incriminating pictures. Honestly, I've done everything I can to forget about late 90s football, so my memory isn't so great on that point. I do however remember Cecil loving his uninvited late-night cuddle sessions in various girls' apartments around campus. :rolleye33:
I was impressed with Patrick Peterson at fan day. Everyone there seemed to want his autograph and picture. He would stop signing to pose for every picture and when he finished signing his autograph, he would blow on it so it wouldn't smear.
Assembling this group of young men with talent AND character is probably on of the good consequences of the Ryan P. fallout. :thumb:
