If I pull your finger it might cause some discomfort. If I rip your finger off your hand and shove it down your throat is goes beyond discomfort. If you touch someone briefly with a hot ember it is uncomfortable. If someone brands you on the ass with a red-hot branding iron it goes beyond uncomfortable. All water-board does to ANYONE, seals, terrorist, or you and me is cause discomfort.


By your measure, the fact that we have nukes could be weaved into an argument of mental torture to our enemies. Its not North Korea's fault they are acting like this. We are technically torturing them with are awesomeness.

but if you were captured it wouldn't be your buddies waterboarding you. with your buddies you were sure that they were not going to kill you but if you were captured could you assume the same? probably not.

 

What damage does Water-boarding do exactly?

 

simulates drowning if I am not mistaken but could be wrong. honestly I don't know if anyone has ever died of waterboarding but that doesn't mean it isn't torture. if someone tied you to a chair and repeatedly raped your wife in front of you would that be torture even though no bodily harm came to you?

 

As sick as you are, I would consider it torture to my wife. Not me because I would in turn actually torture them. Like chop them up n stuff.

 

Wrong. It will suck for the younger crowd by a measure of 3:1 compared to what the older crowd will pay. The drawback is the death panel will eventually take care of the old farts when they need some life saving operation or transplant. And what in the hell do you think private insurance companies do when you've reached the end of your benefits? They cut you off and you die, that's what happens. There is no panel, just a corporation who says you now cost them too much money and it is time to cut you off and effectively end your life. Further, the notion of death panels has been debunked long ago.

We are currently subsidizing the older crowd through our payments into medicare so what is the difference? we have an aging population and one way or another, we are going to pay for or subsidize their health care....there's no way around it except to let our elderly just die when they get sick.

How do you know that Obama care isn't a better deal? Have you read the legislation? Do you know everything that it encompasses or are you making assumptions based upon rumors that you've heard from people who think like you?
