You guys recall, I'm sure, a few weeks ago when one of the Michigan sites had an article up on their premium forum stating that the deal with Kirk Ferentz was done and he would be named their new head coach soon. Hook, line and sinker is the only way to describe how the Michigan fans took the news. Then, a day or two later word came out that the story was a complete hoax that was in fact the brain child of a few Iowa fans who were just playing the media for their own enjoyment, laughs, chits and giggles. NOW, the story takes on Part Duex, but with another coaching search. Yesterday, I watched reports surfacing about Mangino leaving Kansas to go to WVU. At face value I thought it looked to be a good hire and watched to see if and when it would start breaking in the media. IT DID! The Lawrence Journal-World (KUsports.com) reported they were having phone conversations with Mangino's agent and they were confirming that Mangino was indeed headed to take over the WVU program. Stop the presses just a moment fella's. As it turns out, one small problem. They weren't talking to Mangino's agent, but someone pretending to be him. And people wonder why no one trusts a thing coming out of the print media today. >>link<<
