Fancy that. That certainly didn't take long. Ohio State's Meyer defends recruiting practices - College Football - Rivals.com
Meyer is a piece of garbage. Anything for success. And I mean ANYTHING. On a more serious note. From the article: It ain't ova til it's ova. They can get ready. They're going to have to spank their horses until LOI day.
"the gentleman's agreement",.. despicable in every form, keeps the rich rich and the poor poor. Meyer's a boring jerk, but he was at a new place, with no time to spare, so I don't think he can be faulted for reaching out in all directions. Normally, I like the guideline; don't pursue a kid if he's commit-ed, but if he calls you, then all's fair, total war.
Isn't Bret Bielema of Wisconsin, the coach who went for 2 with a huge lead in the last few minutes of a game against the gophers? Says his chart called for it. Not to be confused with the modest 83 points he put on Indiana's head. Said he felt the need to compete until the whistle. I'm thinking, big 10 better start get it in writing, that old gentleman's agreement of sportsmanship ain't cutting it either.
Funny how dad JoePa dies and the big ten is now sleezy... oh wait, uhh the State Penn stuff and Wisky Brett was recruiting the same way last year as he was complaining about Meyer for... Brett Bulima narcing on someone ... please.
This. He also didn't have any problems putting 70 on Purdue if you recall. Basically all I saw out of Bielema's complaint was Petrino. Sportsmanship is useful when it protects him, but he doesn't have any problems ignoring it when its inconvenient.
I like how Bielema said "We dont want to be like the SEC in anyway" Your right. the Big 10 is NOT like the SEC in anyway. There is a HUGE difference.
