For 1st time, transgender titleholder to compete in Miss Nevada

For the first time, the title of Miss Silver State USA was awarded to a transgender person.

Kataluna Enriquez was crowned in the biggest preliminary competition for the Miss Nevada USA pageant.

In a question and answer portion of the pageant, Enriquez was asked to describe an obstacle she has faced and is overcoming.

“Growing up, I was often told that I was not allowed to be myself, or to be in spaces that I was not welcome. One of the obstacles I encounter every day is just being true to myself. Today I am a proud transgender woman of color. Personally, I’ve learned that my differences do not make me less than, it makes me more than. And my differences is what makes me unique, and I know that my uniqueness will take me to all my destinations, and whatever I need to go through in life,” Enriquez answered.

Enriquez will now compete for Miss Nevada USA, the state pageant that leads to Miss USA and Miss Universe.

This just in - DHS is preparing to release illegal immigrants with no order to appear. They claim there are too many.
Also, they plan to commandeer and use recently empty oil field barracks to house illegal unaccompanied minors.
----Wow, destroy an industry and use its assets to house illegal alien future democrat voters.

I'll put it this way. We rented a "cabin," for a few days around Christmas. I put it in quotes because my well-traveled daughters proclaimed it the nicest place we'd ever stayed. It was heavenly.

My 16-year-old liked it so much that she convinced us to rent a place during her Spring Break to celebrate her Sweet 16. We took her and two of her friends.

There is all manner of lodging, though we've gone with the high end. I have enjoyed the scenery and just sitting on a deck with a fireplace and a comfortable couch and reading a book whilst sitting in the middle of the woods. The lake at the state park is beautiful, by the way.

We will definitely go back...if not purchase a vacation home (to rent out/use) there. We started looking, but the inventory flies off the market quickly.

80% of the homes are owned by people from DFW because it's only 2 and a half hours away.

Thanks a bunch Stacey. The fact that you would consider purchasing a vacation home there tells me you must love it. We definately want a cabin on the water preferably on Mountain Fork River since I plan to try trout fishing. My wife like you would enjoy reading, taking pictures and hiking.

Will let you know how our visit turned out when we book and finish our trip.

    Cheers

PS; How was the food in Broken Bow?

We ordered both times from Grateful Head pizza the first night and cooked ourselves the rest of the time. However, there are quite a few restaurants. While we were up there two weeks ago, it was being touted as the second most popular vacation rental location in the US.
