--Only a guy who is so totally into the game and all of its parts that he is able to be the subject of a jest or a gaffe, share it with the team, and then move on to the more important lessons of the day.

Bless all gods, great and small, that Les Miles is our coach!

    LSU!

    First off, great read!

Most dont get it. I frequent a MMA board as well and there is a college football thread. Someone mentioned that the game was a huge disappointment for all its billing of 1 vs 2. I said I can understand it from the perspective of most, but for me it was a classic. It was a great, smash mouth SEC football game. I also said you had far and away the two best Ds in the country.

There is a Ok St fan there and he said LSU would beat them just by running up there middle.

As I mentioned in another thread. O looks great and is fun to watch but D wins championships. As a kid I much prefered the high scoring games. Now, Im spoiled to the recent years of dominant Ds of the SEC.

Well--Yes! While Bama was missing those FG's I distinctly saw LSU with all their 11 helmets off, enjoying a nice crisp Gatorade, munching on hot pretzels and generally carrying on in a very un-championship team-like fashion.

This went on for four FULL quarters and then some, when one of our guys (was it a field goal kicker? a tight end? I don't recall--it doesn't matter anyway) dejectedly kicked a football that was lying around (doing nothing, I recall) on the turf, the ball then being lofted up by a Les Miles-lucky gust of wind, thereupon to pass absurdly through the uprights!

SHEESH! And all the while I though Bama had this game in the bag, condescendingly (and in the spirit of fair play) allowing us to exercise and romp around in their house!

    The W was a fluke!
