I certainly have given up. I am going to just go enjoy the rest of my day why everyone discusses here how LSU's offense has improved.
I already said that he has improved a lot. Just not enough for LSU to be a top-10 team. The quarterback is primarily responsible for lack of passing production, you know this as well as I do. I didn't say he hasn't improved, read more carefully. And I said that Les MAY have to find another quarterback next year, IF Jefferson has not become a consistent 200-yard passer. I've never called for Jefferson to be benched. But it's pretty obvious that he doesn't own the position either. Nothing. But next year he will be a junior and youth is no excuse. He will have to perform and no excuses will do. I do think Jefferson still has a lot of upside, more than Lee, but like Russell before him, success is coming slowly. He has to step it up in the rest of the season and he knows it. So do you, amigo.
This is still a debate? Lee was absolutely useless from the time of the Ridley TD on. I'm amazed people still think Lee is better than JJ. FOURTEEN YARDS OF OFFENSE IN THE FOURTH QUARTER! SIU is just trolling at this point, this has to be schtick, nobody can really feel this strongly about something so wrong.
I am just trolling because I have two eyes. Of course he couldn't do anything with Alabama dropping everyone back. Yeah, you skip the first two possessions where LSU was finally able to run the ball because the defense was not going to put 8-9 in the box. I wonder why they did that? Oh jeez let me see all these teams are scared of Jefferson's throwing ability, I hate to tell you this offense is a defensive coordinators wet dream. It's simple, Jefferson + Scott you put 8-9 in the box... easy for the DC. This is the same nonsense I heard at the beginning of the year where I predict the Scott up the middle play was not going to work constantly in the SEC. I love all the rewriting of history on this forum. Priceless. Your weak ass WR screens combined with Scott up the middle from the I formation on 1st down BS is not going to work in the SEC against the top teams... end of story. I called it and I was right, but you can keep rewriting history. Jefferson didn't do crap, WR Screens after wr screen and then you mix in a horrible option play. The offense looked like crap and in FACT only had 7 points through 2.5 quarters. Jefferson didn't do CRAP or was I watching some other game where they were going up and down the field. Yeah, I am the troll. I don't hate the guy but lets talk about the actually game instead of some dream you had. There was nothing Lee could do in the 4th quarter, the only play that was available was running Ridley and the OC basically failed to do it. The only thing Jefferson did was get the commentators something to laugh about when he ran the option plays.
Look, Lee proved why he is the back up and that is it. I really hope people aren't saying that its Lee's fault the game was lost last night, because that is so far from the truth its ridiculous. The fact is, Lee should have gotten more playing time because of situations like last night. Jefferson is the starter, and should be, but i will take Lee as a back-up.
Whether or not you like Lee is beside the point. Jefferson is no passing threat at all. You might as well have Shepard playing QB, the defenses will continue to play 8-9 in the box against Jefferson. As soon as Lee got in Alabama had to drop into normal coverage, huge holes appeared in the DL. Personally, I think he did fine... nothing great, nothing bad. The offense was able to kind of get in a grove because the defense was no longer crowding the line... the reason is simple, they feared the pass. The OC failed by not running the ball. Jefferson + Crowton next year = another very long year for LSU RBs Actually, Crowton + any QB = another very long year for the LSU offense Kind of hard to have a conversation when some of these people that think the offense looked even remotely good in the first 2.5 quarters, it was horrible. I mean can someone actually go talk to Crowton and tell him to stop running the option and if you are going to do it you don't run 80% of the time to the short side of the field.
Sorry SIU but the gameplan with Jordan Jefferson going into last night was the right gameplan. The offense ran the ball enough to make Bama respect it, and we gained yards in the passing game. Jefferson was 10-17 for 114 with 1 TD and 0 int's. Lee was 4-10 for 44 yards. Lee didn't lose the game, but he damn sure had the greatest opportunity to get all the Lee haters in the world to be behind him, and feel stupid for the things they said about him, and he couldn't get it done. I have said some things about him in the past that i regret saying because i think he is a good, classy, kid who was thrown into an impossible situation last year. However in the SEC, you need a qb who can at least pick up a first down with his legs. Jordan Jefferson is getting better every week, and i think he is going to be a top 3 quarterback in the SEC next season, maybe even the best qb in the SEC. But at the same time, i am glad we have a guy who has SEC experience as our back up. And if Lee gets another chance, i hope he makes the most of it, but Jefferson gives us the best chance of winning.
Except that it WAS working. Unless you choose to ignore the 84 yards Scott had at time of injury, on just 13 carries (6.4 YPC!)....Or that Jefferson was 10/17, with just one sack allowed. Lee, by comparison, took 2 sacks in 10 attempts, and only completed 4 passes two of which on WR screens. I am convinced at this point this is shtick. Every thing you ever say is easily disproved.
Real hard when you make statements like that. You expect everybody to agree with you:huh: BTW, remotely good! I thought the offense played pretty solid the first 2.5 quarters. Were they perfect? Nope just solid.
