Yeah. My crow pie was a bit sour last night. But I washed it down with a tall glass of "learned my lesson".
he was good enough to have returned--supposedly. but jl having about 5 plays coming into last night then being thrown in again the best defense in the country isnt what even his detractors would call a fair shot. actually, the best thing about last night is those on the ledge have finally jumped completely off.
Good, the rest of us can pull for another 10 win season :thumb: Only wonder what the game would have been like with LSU having a seasoned 5th year senior QB at the helm this year. To coin a new phrase " just sayin' "
JJ looked better but he has got to get rid of the ball about 1 sec faster. LSU very rarely completes timing patterns for 5-10 yds. The quick passes just aren't happening for a 8-10 yd gain. JJ has to get better at the quick passes and timing patterns. If this happens our offense becomes so much better.
I thought Lee did alright, as soon as Scott was out of the game they completely abandoned the run. As soon as Lee went in there Alabama played back because of the threat of the pass... there is absolutely no threat of a pass with Jefferson in there. Huge lanes were opened up to Scott because of the threat of the pass. The OC sucks, 18 minutes of football without a run basically. Alabama was playing back. Why wasn't Ridley given the ball?????????? Jefferson is good enough to get you 7-10 wins a year if the talent is very high around him but you will not see any improvement in the offense... he has no ability to run the option.... his throws are too slow to get you any kind of consistent play at the position. Unless you get rid of the OC next year will look exactly the same.
I think there is no doubt that Alabama was playing back as soon as Lee was in there. They rolled the safeties way back. What messed up the whole offense in the second half... the 16 yard gain on 4th down from Lee with what would have been a 15 yard penalty for face mask on top. The freaking OC refusing to run Ridley. By the end of the 4th quarter Alabama was playing nothing but the pass. I really didn't see Lee make any mistake, the INT was 4th down, he had to get rid of it and all the Wideouts were double covered.... Jefferson would have just taken the sack. The game was over before that. The only way LSU is going to get better on offense is: - sacking the OC - getting a passing threat on the field... if you don't like Lee that is fine but Jefferson is not a passing threat
