Thanks for the response. When I posted my post, I was practically aiming it at you. I could tell you had an issue with the decision, but also knew you would know more about it than most of us. - I for one am happy with the decision. I'm not one of them, but I know a lot of LSU fans are either making the long trek to the UW game...or are alumni living in the Pac NW that rarely have a chance to see the Tigers play in person. Bottom line, TGBFTL is a MAJOR part of Tiger football, and I feel it would be unthinkable to have them not make the trip. Honestly, if I was even thinking about making that long trip to the game...and found out the band wasn't gonna be represented at all...I wouldn't go...honestly. I bring my kids to Tiger stadium every now and then knowing I won't be able to get tickets to the game...just so they can experience the band coming down the hill. They LOVE it! Then we get in the car and head back home...usually missing the first half. It's worth it to me. - I am one who is glad the band will be represented at the UW game...for the LSU fans that will be in attendance. I simply cannot imagine a Tiger first down without the first down cheer. It would make me sick to my stomach! It stands out like a sore thumb to me when the band is heading down to the field prior to halftime...we get a first down, TD, 3rd down stop...and I hear no music. I can't STAND it! They are just too much a part of the game experience to not have them on hand...even in a limited capacity.
I think this is a great way to open up the chance for band people from that area the chance to see what a REAL college band is like and could be an untapped source of band talent.
