No, I didn't miss it. It's just irrelevant because that's how nearly every small business gets started.

What do you mean "now he's expected to take care of..."? Our tax structure was in place well before he started his business.

He built it on his own and then hired employees to help it grow. They are not necessarily entitled to share in the profits. They work for a salary that he determines or they go elsewhere. They are not prisoners on a chain gang.

It's the government he holds in contempt. His threats to fire are only if the government forces his hand.

i still dont understand what the hell you are talking about.

did you claim this guy was a bad businessman?

"leads me to believe that he's not a very good business man" - you

what is that based on? you have no idea how he runs his business. he might be amazing. he might be selling an awful product and still making great profits. we just have no idea.

why does that make it irrelevant? (if true)

the fact is that small businesses are huge employers. and taxing the fellas that own them doesnt hurt those fellas as much as it hurts the folks they are paying, or would be paying. like i said, taxes hurt the poor, no matter who pays the taxes. if liberals cared about the poor they would think this through. but liberals mostly care about their guilty white consciences.

Not my problem, and I'm not spoon-feeding it to you. Go back and read through it again from the top, and bear in mind that my posts are often sprinkled with hyperbole. If you still don't get it, phone a friend.

It's irrelevant because it doesn't make him unique. Many, many other people followed the same path that he did, and they didn't distribute childish letters to their employees. And I'm strictly poking holes in the letter, not arguing with you about taxes, the rich, the poor, etc.

Did you all miss the point that it is not a real letter?

Surely no one worth his salt would have ever actually typed this and distributed it to his employees? This is all just mish mash to get you worked up.

Of course it isn't a real letter. Could you imagine being an employee for a guy who thinks so little of employees? Any top talent would be gone in a heart beat.

I googled the company and the owner and both really exist. I wonder how this affects the bottom line.

I wonder if it may be real just because the guy seems to have a presentable website and if it is not real, and he has any sense at all, he would put a note on his homepage about this fraudulent story. Like Supa, I went to the website to check this guy out. You know people are emailing and calling on both sides of the issue. If it wasn't real, it seems like he would put something on the website saying that.

I still think it's fake. It's just odd to me.

Edit: Okay so a little more research finds this post on a discussion board

for once i agree with sabanfan that the truth of the letter is not relevant. it described a very non-extraordinary scenario.
