..."I have to go to a wedding on X gameday" or "My wife wants to take a trip to her parents on X Gameday" or, in Pennsylvania's case "I bought tickets to a horse race on one of the biggest gamedays in Tiger history..." I work for DISH Network, it's true, but one of the pieces of technology we offer to customers is called the Sling Adapter. Now, I'm not saying for everyone to go out and switch to DISH Network but for those who have DISH currently and have a ViP 722 receiver, this little metal honeycomb looking piece of hardware shoots Live TV and any recorded content to your iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Tablet PC, or Laptop/Desktop. For new customers DISH currently gives the Sling Adapter free, you pay the $99 up front but receive a $99 Visa Gift Card in the mail. I just wanted to share something that is out there for people. It works on 3G so you don't need a Wi-Fi connection for it to work. I usually pull up Saints games when I'm driving home on Sunday or pull up another SEC game while I'm watching LSU. Just hit me up if you guys have any questions about it. EDIT: I meant to put this in The Roundtable. I'm sorry admins, you can move this.
Or you can buy a sling box for about 100 bucks regardless of what provider you have and do the same thing.
I live 8 time zones ahead of BR (9 hours, once daylight savings time ends), and my work week is Sunday through Thrusday. Back in the good ol' days when we used to have night time kickoffs for home SEC games, that meant kickoff would often be around 3:30 or 4:30 a.m. on the first day of my work week. Not that I mind having a pre-dawn bourbon and water or beer on a Sunday, but it doesn't make for the most productive of work days. SlingBox with DVR sure comes in handy for me. The Dish variety sounds good, too.
Don't know about Verne and Gary, but Hawthorn's voice over the radio sends my horses to running/stampeding. ~
