Nebraska has no real recruiting grounds, and can't compete in a weak B1G. Miami was run in the ground with too many violations to count, and letting the criminals run the prison. Texas is a mirror image of LSU coached by a guy who hauled in the talent, but became complacent and out stayed his coaching ability. UT was just stupid and made some bad hires after Fulmer... Kiffen helped ruin that program and now Butch seems to be correcting the ship.
Miami did not fire a proven coach. Larry Coker inherited an amazingly talented bunch from Butch Davis. Won a NC, got robbed of another by a bad call in 2002 and then let the program slide downhill from there. On a larger scale it remindss me of Mike Archer running it into the ground after 2 good year's with the players Bill Arnsparger had left him.
I remember what blow outs were. The three loses this year were not blow outs. UF drumming us by 40+ in the 90s were blowouts. We were in each of the games that Miles has coached. They weren't over by halftime.
Good coaches will want to come here. But if a coach has a choice between us and USCondoms - they'll go to the west coast. Much easier path to playoffs than SEC west.
If it was fan pressure he woulda been gone in 2012. This was allevas make or break gamble on jimbo. But hey blame the people who support and built the program through thick and thin if you want.
